Chapter 464 - 464: Familiar Face

Chapter 464 - 464: Familiar Face

"Know her? She knows the traitor?! She must be another one of them! We have to take care of her just like this one!"The same man from before, apparently having not fully understood his lesson in humility, immediately piped up. It seemed he was eager to prove himself in the eyes of the 'better leaders' but he was stupid enough to think that he could do that by opening his big mouth once more.

He strode over to Ava confidently, his lips twisted in a wide smile as he was confident that he had finally made the right move. His hand reached out to grab Ava, but he stopped quickly when his head touched against the cold steel of a gun barrel.

He let out a soft whimper, looking up at the golden gun pressed against his forehead, and then down at the cold, expressionless face of Xander.

"Let's hear what the girl has to say first, shall we?"

The man nodded softly, not wanting to shake the gun too much just in case it set it off for some reason. Satisfied at his response, Xander pulled the gun away, twirled it on his finger before holstering it again.

"Good. Don't worry about her anyways, you have more important things to worry about."

The man frowned softly as Xander gestured behind him, and when he finally turned around he let out another whimper as he came face to face with the snarling face of a Wyvern. Globules of saliva dripped from his drooling, blood stained maw, as if he was already imagining what he would taste like.

His eyes trailed to the teeth that were larger than his forearm, and his hair flipped backwards when the beast puffed out a cloud of smoky air from its nostrils.

As if that wasn't bad enough, a dozen different weapons floated in the air around him, all of their wicked blades pointed directly at him. The weapons bobbed menacingly in the air, just waiting for an excuse.

Seth strolled up next to Omelette, patting the Wyvern reassuringly and causing him to immediately stop growling. He lifted his head, letting out another huff of annoyance as he glared down at the man, before Omelette sauntered off to go enjoy his meal.

The weapons remained floating in the air as Seth gave the idiot the stink eye, not caring if he was about to pee his pants or not. If there was one thing he didn't take lightly, it was threats to his family.

Once the inconvenience was dealt with, Seth nodded to Ava and gestured for her to continue as all eyes turned back to her, and away from the mouthy buffoon.

"I- I have seen her before, a few times actually," Ava said as she knit her fingers together nervously, "She used to work for the Lightbringer and she-"

"SILENCE YOU WRETCHED LITTLE-"

The Angel shouted in rage, a flash of light bursting from her body as incinerated the threads binding her. She barely managed to reach out her hand before one of the weapons threatening the idiotic man sped forwards and stabbed through her hand.

It pinned the grasping limb to the ground, before she was quickly ensnared once more and given another round of electroshock treatment to keep quite. Seth silently gestured for Ava to continue, which she did after gulping shyly.

"She was always there when he would extract my blood for the potions. You know, the one's that made people super powerful."

The Angel screamed, but her words were muffled behind a gag of threads. Behind Ava, Woe lowered his gaze in a mixture of shock and horror. His trembling hand touched his lips as he remembered the sensation of drinking that exact potion.

On the day, he had been so eager to prove himself to the Lightbringer. Not only had he been fighting against his brother that day but... he did so by drinking the stolen blood of his sister? Even though the vile solution had long passed through his system, his stomach churned at the discovery.

So much so that he had to run off to puke, while Ava continued on unaware of her twins turmoil.

"The blood wasn't too useful on its own but... She was the one that made it into the potion. Every time, she would take half and give the other half to him to use."

Seth moved over to Ava, putting his hands on her shoulders and pulling her into a light hug as tears started to well up in the girls eyes. They didn't talk about their time in the Lightbringers camp. For Woe, it hadn't been too bad. He had been treated well, like a valuable soldier in the fight for justice and righteousness.

But all he knew about Ava was that she was used more like a resource than anything. He just never pushed her for the details of it, and even now he felt like it was only a fraction of the story.

While Seth was consoling his sister, it was Yuan that spoke up. He hobbled over in his regular human form, wincing with every step from the pain in his back. The healers had only just finished closing up the wound on its back, and were still hovering around him as they plead for him to return to bed.

But he just shook them off as he said,

"So you are telling us that this... Lightbringer person, was working with this woman?"

Ava pulled out of Seth's hug, wiping her eyes in embarrassment as she shook her head.

"N-no sir. Not with him. It always felt like... He was working for her. She seemed like she was in charge, even making him kneel before him as she spoke about 'real gods'."

Even if they didn't know who the Lightbringer was, as his over zealous declaration to the world had been long forgotten by other leaders after his defeat, those that were gathered were at least smart enough to follow this thread to its end.

Even the big mouthed idiot knew what it meant, surprisingly. What they had on their hands now, as not another cattle of the traitor gods, like the Captain, or a human mutated to grow wings. They had the real deal, a real life Angel and direct servant of the Gods.

The only question was, what to do with her?
