Chapter 1230 - 1229: Desert Guardian Angel
Chapter 1230 - 1229: Desert Guardian Angel
"Sugar-fried chestnuts are really, really tasty, and the stars are really, really beautiful tonight."Tang Rao pulled out sugar-fried chestnuts, sitting alone under the starry sky, eating cheerfully.
What's the big deal about the desert? If it's hot, I'll bring out some ice cubes to cool off; if it's cold, I'll grab more quilts to wrap around. No matter how cold the weather gets, as long as my heart is warm, nothing else matters.
While Tang Rao was enjoying watching the stars, they suddenly started to change formation.
Each star, sparkling with dazzling golden light, began to fall from the sky. If they were really stars, they wouldn't be this small. Yet, the falling objects were all tiny bits, and each one landing on him hurt so much that it made Tang Rao's eyes water.
"You little weirdos, if you know what's good for you, show yourselves quickly and stop pretending to be ghosts!"
Tang Rao pointed at a few stars that were about to fall.
"Heh heh heh heh!"
Upon hearing this sound, Tang Rao knew something was amiss, much like recognizing the background music at the start of a movie and predicting whether good guys or bad guys would appear next.
"Little punks, I just want to sleep peacefully, but you keep pretending to be monsters to haunt me. Don't make me beat you so bad your parents won't recognize you!"
True to his word, Tang Rao took off a shoe and struck the golden star with it, instantly turning it into a pile of ashes.
However, after the star turned into ashes, Tang Rao realized he hadn't had the chance to ask it whether it was turned to ashes because it was beaten or stunk to ashes.
"Heh heh heh heh, we are endless. You may have killed one, but you can't finish them all. When all the stars fall on you, that will be your doom."
This little star was indeed too clever. Tang Rao hadn't even fully thought out how to extract the star's intentions before it confessed everything.
"My doom? Maybe it's your doom instead. Don't believe me? Just watch."
Tang Rao brought out the little fire shrub. Seeing the sparkling objects made the fire shrub excited, especially those whose colors were better than its own, driving it crazy to destroy them.
It spat Dan Fire from its mouth, instantly turning all the stars into dust, disappearing without a trace.
"Little fire shrub, well done!"
Tang Rao gave the fire shrub a thumbs up, and encouraged by Tang Rao, the fire shrub became even more reckless, starting to spray fire at all things sparkling. After a few big sprays, Tang Rao was nearly scorched to baldness by the fire shrub.
"Hee hee."
After Tang Rao's disruptive antics, the glittering stars in the sky dared not fall again.
"Tang Rao, Tang Rao!"
The first round was a success for the fire shrub, and it was so excited it bounced on Tang Rao's shoulder.
After hopping around a bit, it returned to Tang Rao's portable palace.
Having caused such a stir, Tang Rao established his authority, and no one dared come forward to bother Tang Rao in the middle of the night.
The next morning, he was awakened by a gust of cold wind, and upon waking, he discovered his little house was blown away.
"What kind of nonsense is this, where's my house?"
Last night, the house he slept in vanished overnight.
"Your house was blown away."
That distant voice echoed around Tang Rao's ears.
Tang Rao paid it no mind and idly began taking in the scenery of the desert.
If he was feeling down, he'd sit in place to rest; if in good spirits, he'd find a slightly flat spot and pee a peach heart shape onto the golden sand.
But as soon as a gust blew by, that heart instantly disappeared.
This was already the second day, yet in the desert, Tang Rao hardly felt any hint of hardship.
The remaining eight days seemed intended for Tang Rao to experience solitude in the desert?
If Tang Rao were to be slightly provoked, he wouldn't want to experience loneliness either.
"Heh heh heh heh."
The road ahead wasn't smooth, as Tang Rao heard laughter coming from across the sand dune even before crossing it.
The laughter was identical to last night's, giving Tang Rao a fright, nearly squeezing out the urine he'd gathered to create a peach heart.
"Tang Rao, you didn't expect me to show up here, did you?"
Upon crossing the sand dune, the person was Leng Pengfei.
The man who wished for Tang Rao's demise like it was his life purpose.
"Leng Pengfei, I don't recall digging up your ancestral graves, so why are you relentlessly after me? Is it dissatisfaction with what I've done, or do you think I'm more suited to fight you?"
Leng Pengfei's strength surely increased over time, as did Tang Rao's.
Between Leng Pengfei and Tang Rao, there's a huge difference: Leng Pengfei is flamboyant, and Tang Rao is discreet.
Tang Rao typically avenges himself live on the spot, while Leng Pengfei always refrains from retaliating. Eventually, when he does retaliate, he can't even touch a hair on Tang Rao.
This is flamboyance mixed with heartache, yet now Leng Pengfei unexpectedly shows up to deliver a crushing blow to Tang Rao.
"Knowing you owe me, you still dare not repay?"
Leng Pengfei's laughter made Tang Rao's skin crawl.
Repay?
Tang Rao never repays his debts even to the neighbor sister, so what could be expected from him in terms of repayment?
"Tang Rao, you make me restless and suffer, now I want you to repay a thousandfold."
Wait, this man isn't Leng Pengfei!
Though Tang Rao isn't too familiar with Leng Pengfei, he knows his personality and speaking style enough to distinguish him.
Leng Pengfei's speech isn't sinister, unlike the strong presence Tang Rao currently faces.
"Who are you? You're not Leng Pengfei!"
Bluntly calling it out, with certainty that this isn't Leng Pengfei, Tang Rao charged and started fighting with the false Leng Pengfei.
Once tangled up, they were determined to fight to the end.
"Lucky for you, you figured it out. Do you think revealing my trick will save you from my moves?"
Though pretending, the fake Leng Pengfei was no weaker than the real one.
After all, it's Tang Rao's own ego getting him into trouble, not something to blame him for, right?
"Now can you tell me who you are?"
Tang Rao didn't waste words with him.
Compared to the previous fights, Tang Rao fell short, but after refining his body, he's made notable progress.
"I'm the Desert Guardian Angel, but you can call me Heart Demon."
Many titles inventively describe him, none truly his as it's mere illusion.
"Heart Demon?" Tang Rao mumbled to himself.
"I'll beat you into submission!"
Tang Rao, uninterested in talking, listened only as much as Heart Demon offered.
Since he lacked social understanding, Tang Rao felt it necessary to give Heart Demon a life lesson.
"I told the truth, why keep hitting me?"
Heart Demon stomped around aggrievedly, distorting his expression, previously looking like Leng Pengfei, now completely shrinking pallid.
