Divorced woman with child travels through time

Chapter 546 Dangerous Situation in the Garden

Chapter 546 Dangerous Situation in the Garden

"Ahhh!! Don't hit me!" The woman was so frightened that she took a sharp step back.

Strangely enough, despite all the commotion, the women in the iron cage remained as quiet as if they were asleep.

"What's wrong with them?" Song Qing shouted angrily, her eyes red.

“They’ve taken medicine. The leader doesn’t like noise, so everyone has to take medicine,” the woman replied obediently.

"Where did these people come from?" Zhang Biao snapped at her, then ordered his men to open the cage and rescue the people.

"I don't know, they won't let me go." The woman shrank back in fear.

"Hmm? Where should we send that person?"

“They’ll be sent to a garden outside the city, where someone will take care of them. Only obedient people are sent there; those who don’t are defiled and thrown away.” The woman’s voice trailed off as she spoke, knowing full well that this was wrong.

"Where outside the city? Be specific. Tell me quickly!" Song Qing held a knife to her neck, his hand trembling as he asked through gritted teeth.

"Waaah... It's the garden thirty miles south of the west of the city, in front of the courtyard with three willow trees. Please don't kill me..." The woman cried until her voice was hoarse. Song Qing got the result he wanted and drew his knife to kill her.

Zhang Biao stopped him and earnestly advised, "Go find that garden first. After these women wake up, see if what they said is true before you kill them."

Song Qing hesitated for a few moments, then sheathed his sword and left, saying, "Then I'm leaving. You should explain things to Mr. Lin."

"Okay! Bring more people!" Zhang Biao only had time to add one more sentence before Song Qingren had already disappeared into the passage.

In the lobby, Lin Er was still exchanging pleasantries with the departing guests.

"Mr. Lin, I've found out where they're hiding. I'll be right back!" Song Qing said, then led his men away on horseback.

Lin Er nodded, glancing back at the dark inner room, his eyes swirling with dark emotions. When he saw the women being helped out, one after another, deep in a coma, he could no longer hold back his tears. He had no heart to exchange pleasantries with the remaining guests and ordered them all to leave.

The remaining guests whispered amongst themselves, never expecting that Lin Yue Lou was truly a den of monsters that devoured people.

The shop owner watched all this, then collapsed to the ground, utterly devastated. It was all over. Someone was coming after him.

Zhang Yuntai, who had just heard the news and rushed to the door, saw the woman being carried out of the house while he was still at the door. He turned around and ordered his men to carry the sedan chair away.

Lin Er glanced at the unremarkable official sedan chair, snorted coldly, and said nothing to stop him.

In the shadows of the street corner, a hunched, thin figure saw the woman being carried out and finally felt relieved, limping away little by little.

Zhang Biao arranged for people to move all the women out. There were fifty or sixty of them, all young and beautiful, around sixteen or seventeen years old. One or two of them had even regained consciousness. He quickly pulled the woman in white out to testify. It was later confirmed that the woman's name was Peach Blossom. Because she was timid and obedient, she had not suffered any hardship and had not harmed anyone. It was considered that what she said was true.

After doing all this, Zhang Biao handed the man over to Lin Er and hurriedly ran off. He had to go support Old Man Song; given his nature, if anything happened, he'd probably risk his life.

As the saying goes, what you fear most is what will happen!

As soon as I arrived outside the garden, I could hear the sounds of metal clashing with various bladed weapons inside, creating quite a lively atmosphere.

There were three or five soldiers guarding outside.

"Really, I'm in..." The rest of the sentence was too vulgar, and as the leader of the team, Zhang Biao still had some face to save, so he swallowed it back.

"What's going on? Didn't we agree to assess the situation first and wait for our support?" Zhang Biaoqing shouted angrily.

"One of the brothers from the Qi Battalion was injured and crawled out. I don't know what he said, but Lord Song got angry and led his men to attack," the soldier explained aggrievedly.

You can't blame him. Zhang Biao was angry, but he still had his head. "Split into three teams: one for the front gate, one for the back gate, and one to climb over the wall. Note that anyone who isn't one of our own should be killed. Except for innocent women who can be saved. If they don't answer honestly, don't spare them! Protect yourselves first."

"Yes!" The team led by Zhang Biao was specially selected by Lin Er from Wang Erniu to do these kinds of jobs that ordinary people couldn't understand. They were similar in nature to the Lin-character Battalion, but more pragmatic. Lin Er used them as a reserve force for the Lin-character Battalion.

The three groups each entered the garden according to their own routes. Once inside, they realized that the garden was quite large and crowded. In many rooms, there were women crying, as well as faint cries for help and sounds of resistance. Each group sneaked in to rescue the women first.

They discovered that more and more of the gardens were being used by men and women, and the Qinglan Sect disciples found the situation utterly appalling once they stormed in. However, there was a silver lining: the Qinglan Sect was a strictly hierarchical society, and every new disciple had an orchid mark on their arm. As for the other men without the mark, they were allied with the Qinglan Sect members, so they were obviously not good people and could be killed.

The team of several hundred people was mercilessly cleared away, leaving behind a pile of corpses.

Gradually, the encirclement narrowed to the courtyard where Song Qing was fighting.

"Sir, Lord Song is surrounded. Should we sneak over and kill those people?" his subordinate reported. Zhang Biao was on the roof watching the situation in the courtyard. He was quite far away, but he could see that they were being surrounded and beaten by the woman in white.

"No rush, let that old man suffer a bit," Zhang Biao thought to himself. Serves you right for being so impulsive; you never listen to others.

"My lord, this is bad! Half of the casualties that Lord Song led there have been killed or wounded. They were all ambushed inside the house. There's a coded message from the brothers in the courtyard, telling us to hurry and rescue them."

"What! Hurry! Save them!" Zhang Biao slipped and almost fell, but he used the momentum to flip inside and blew a secret signal.

The three teams moved out simultaneously, all aiming to kill silently with crossbow bolts.

Zhang Biao's team was trained by Lin Er, and they could bring any equipment they wanted. As long as they liked it, they could go to him for a hand order. So, whether it was knives, guns, swords, daggers, halberds, clubs, whips, hammers, bows and arrows, hooks, axes, forks, crossbows, or hidden weapons such as throwing knives, hidden arrows, flying needles, throwing forks, poisons, or sleeping potions, they all had it. Zhang Biao had even seen two people carrying small thunderbolts. He wondered where they got them and whether they knew how to use them.

"Who goes there? You despicable person!" With a slash, he knocked down a dart! Qing Si and her companions were locked in a fierce battle with the middle-aged man in front of them when a starfish dart suddenly flew at them, nearly hitting them.

"Me!" Zhang Biao led his men to step forward. Hundreds of people appeared and surrounded the man. However, somewhat awkwardly, Song Qing and several others who were surrounded by women in the very center were injured and did not come out immediately.

Qing Si reacted extremely quickly; a dozen women immediately pointed their swords at Lao Song and the others, shouting, "Let us leave, or I'll kill them!"

"Come on? Give it a try!" Song Qing grinned, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

"Hey, don't say anything!" Zhang Biao said gruffly. "Let me be clear, you're not going to get away with this today. There's no way you can escape. Let them go, and I'll let you go!"
