Chapter 761. Buying a Corpse
Chapter 761. Buying a Corpse
Time passed quickly. Before anyone realized it, evening had already arrived.
"Time’s up."
Tyler’s voice echoed through the cave.
The four slowly opened their eyes sign with expressions of happiness and regret immediately appeared on their faces.Happy because their cultivation had clearly improved. Regretful because the cultivation session had ended so quickly.
Maximus was the most excited. He could already vaguely feel the existence of spiritual energy. If he continued like this, entering the Qi Refining Realm would only be a matter of time.
As everyone prepared to leave, Tyler stood up.
"Don’t worry. You can use this cave once every week."
The four immediately brightened.
"Really?" Tyler nodded, "As long as you help me with a few things."
"Of course!"
The answer came immediately.
This time, nobody hesitated.
"Senior Brother Tyler."
"Senior Brother Tyler."
Even Lee and Louch had started calling him Senior Brother naturally. Tyler didn’t bother correcting them. Instead, he looked toward Ah Hai, "Junior Brother Ah Hai."
"Yes, Senior Brother."
"Go find out how one joins the Formation Hall."
Ah Hai immediately nodded."I’ll investigate it tomorrow."
Tyler then turned toward the others, "You three help me sell some things."
He pointed toward several sacks piled in a corner. The three quickly agreed. None of them even bothered asking what was inside.
After arranging their tasks, the group finally left the cave one after another.
The stone door slowly closed. Silence returned.
However, none of them noticed that a black crow was perched on a distant tree branch.
Its feathers were lifeless. Its eyes glowed with a faint crimson light. The dead crow remained completely motionless as it stared toward Tyler’s cave.
Then it slowly spread its wings and disappeared into the darkening sky.

Another day began in the Dark Forest Society. The sky remained dim as usual, and the entire sect carried a gloomy atmosphere that never seemed to change. Even after spending several days here, Tyler still found it somewhat strange. In other cultivation worlds he had visited, righteous sects were usually built atop majestic mountains bathed in sunlight and immortal mist. The Dark Forest Society, despite being recognized as a righteous sect, looked more like a gathering place for villains. Graveyards, corpses, skeleton horses, corpse servants, and disciples carrying coffins could be seen almost everywhere.
At this moment, Tyler was attending one of the basic classes offered by the Study Hall.
The instructor stood before dozens of disciples while speaking calmly.
"It is true that another mountain’s stone can polish jade, but that does not mean the stone itself can become the jade you wish to be. The greatest taboo on the path of cultivation is indecisiveness. Some disciples want to learn pill refinement, formations, talismans, beast taming, corpse control, swordsmanship, and countless other paths at the same time. In the end, they learn everything poorly and accomplish nothing. Therefore, it is better to choose a path suitable for yourself and walk it properly."
Many disciples nodded thoughtfully.
Tyler also agreed.
The principle was simple. Resources were limited. Time was limited.
Trying to master everything was unrealistic.
Of course, Tyler was an exception. He had already lived through multiple worlds and accumulated knowledge from various systems. Even then, he knew the value of specialization.
The instructor continued.
"Our Dark Forest Society is famous for corpse control techniques. Some outsiders misunderstand us because of this. They believe corpse cultivation is an evil art. That is merely ignorance."
The instructor waved his hand.
A corpse puppet walked out from behind him. The corpse moved naturally and stood quietly beside him. Many new disciples immediately became interested.
Tyler was one of them. The more he listened, the more it reminded him of necromancy from the magic world he had visited previously.
"Our corpse cultivation techniques have many uses. Corpse Mushrooms can be grown on corpses and sold for contribution points. Many medicinal ingredients originate from corpse cultivation. Even our famous Qi Refining Pills contain traces of Yin qi."
The instructor smiled.
"Some disciples of the Sun Dial Sect even purchase our pills specifically to balance excessive Yang energy in their bodies."
Several disciples immediately began taking notes.
The instructor pointed toward the corpse beside him, "If anyone wishes to practice corpse techniques, you must prepare your own corpse. You can purchase one from the market or acquire one through legal means."
Then his expression became serious and warned , "Remember, Do not kill innocent people for corpses."
The classroom became silent.
"We are a righteous sect. If anyone commits such crimes and gets caught, you will not become a disciple. You will become corpse material."
Several disciples shivered.
The instructor smiled again, "Class dismissed."
The moment class ended, many disciples immediately rushed toward the market district.
Tyler followed them. After all, he was also curious.
The graveyard market was one of the strangest places inside the Dark Forest Society. Rows of tombstones stood neatly along the pathways. However, instead of names of the deceased, they displayed prices, cultivation levels, and various details. There were also discounts.
Some corpses were displayed openly. Others remained inside coffins. Several stalls even had illustrated portraits.
Tyler walked slowly through the area.
The atmosphere was bizarre enough that he almost forgot this was a righteous sect.
Soon, his gaze landed on a pale young woman sitting beside a stall.
She wore dark blue robes beneath a red overcoat and had bright red lipstick. At first glance, she looked like one of the displayed corpses.
Tyler studied her for a moment, "Oh, this corpse looks pretty cute."
The woman immediately opened her eyes, "Ah, I’m not a corpse."
Tyler nearly jumped.
The woman laughed, " But I am the cute seller."
Tyler coughed awkwardly. The woman leaned forward.
"Hehehe. If you want cute corpses, I have better ones."
She winked.
Tyler immediately sensed danger.
Unfortunately, before he could leave, the woman had already walked toward an empty area and began taking out coffins from a spatial ring.
Tyler wasn’t surprised. He had already noticed she was an Inner Disciple, so possessing a spatial ring was normal. The first coffin opened.
Inside lay a beautiful woman covered in makeup.
The seller pointed proudly, "This one came from Fragrance Brothel."
Tyler looked at the girl, she was naked and her private parts are especially big and deep...
The woman continued enthusiastically.
"According to records, she wanted to set a world record by entertaining ten thousand men. Unfortunately, she died before reaching halfway."
Tyler stared blankly. The seller nodded seriously. "She can take Ten men at the same time."
"In combat, Right?" Tyler asked hopefully.
The woman ignored the question. She immediately opened another coffin.
"This one committed suicide after getting raped by her neighbour. But Don’t worry though. The resentment has already been removed. The people who are responsible for that have already sold in my graveyard long ago."
Tyler wasn’t sure whether to be relieved or disturbed.
Then the woman lowered her voice mysteriously, "All my corpses have Freshness Talismans and preserving Spell. They’re still warm to use."
She winked again.
Tyler’s expression became increasingly strange, "I think there’s a misunderstanding."
The woman froze. Then she looked thoughtful. "Oh."
Tyler sighed. ’Finally She understood.:
The next moment she nodded confidently.
"So you prefer different types."
Tyler felt something was wrong. The woman continued.
"I have male corpses. Female corpses. Elder corpses. Young corpses. Tall corpses. Short corpses. I even have eighteen different types of Gender organized separately."
Tyler immediately interrupted her.
"No. I just want a corpse for practicing corpse techniques."
The woman nodded, "Of course."
Tyler relaxed.
Then she added, "Dual cultivation techniques."
Tyler covered his face. There was no saving this conversation.
The woman entered deep thought.
After a while, she suddenly snapped her fingers, "Actually, I do have something special. But This one is expensive."
"I don’t mind." Tyler blurted out as usual.
The moment he said that, the woman’s eyes lit up.
"This corpse was discovered by my team inside an ancient ruin. It’s not something you can find normally."
Tyler immediately became interested.
An ancient ruin corpse was naturally different from ordinary corpses.
The woman told him to wait.
Several minutes later, another Inner Disciple arrived. The two exchanged a few words. The woman pointed toward Tyler.
The Inner Disciple nodded, handed over a spatial ring, and hurried away as though he had important matters elsewhere.
"Got it." The woman grinned.
Then she carefully removed a glass coffin from the ring. Unlike the previous coffins, this one looked far more valuable.
The whole coffin was transparent. Tyler stepped forward.
Inside lay a young woman with short hair and brown skin. She wore a white-blue dress embroidered with ancient patterns. Her features were delicate, and her expression was peaceful.
For a brief moment, Tyler thought she was merely sleeping.
Only after observing carefully did he notice the complete absence of breathing.
The woman was dead.
Yet for some reason, she looked more alive than most living people Tyler had seen since arriving in the Dark Forest Society.
Even the usually talkative seller became unusually quiet,
"Damn I would do her, even though I am not lesbian." She muttered, "Smash."
