Legend of the Embroiderer

Chapter 474 The Mystery of the Crystal Core

Chapter 474 The Mystery of the Crystal Core

The moment the guardian's fingertips touched the crystal ball emitting an eerie red light, a bone-chilling cold, like a venomous snake, crept up his arm.

The chill was not ordinary cold, but carried a chaotic corrosive power. Wherever it touched, his arms were instantly covered in frost, and the blood vessels under his skin turned a strange dark purple due to the impact of this power, as if countless tiny ice needles were swimming in the blood vessels.

The runes on the surface of the crystal ball suddenly lit up, the scarlet light writhing like a living thing. The eyes of the fused entity snapped open, its pupils flashing with a dark purple light identical to that of the Chaos Infant. That light was cold and hollow, causing the guardian's heart to clench as if gripped tightly by an invisible hand, making it hard to breathe.

Countless thoughts flashed through his mind: Is this really a fusion? What exactly did she go through?

"Don't come close!"

The voice of the first observer's sister suddenly exploded in his mind, filled with unprecedented terror, as if she had foreseen the impending catastrophe.

"That was a trap set by the core of chaos!"

Before the words were even finished, the star runes around the crystal ball began to rotate in reverse, and the crimson light that burst forth was like chains, carrying a suffocating sense of oppression, tightly binding the guardian's limbs.

He struggled fiercely, his muscles tense, veins bulging, and the Star Chaos Sword in his hand erupted with a light that intertwined silver, black, and scarlet, a light like a burning flame, carrying all his power as he tried to sever these restraints.

The light and the red light collided, only scattering countless sparks, but they could not shake the chain in the slightest, as if these chains were formed from the origin of chaos and were indestructible.

Sweat dripped from his forehead, instantly freezing into ice beads on the frost. A sense of despair welled up in his heart, but he was unwilling to give up.

Just then, the sound of millions of people chanting in unison came from the distant void. It was deep and eerie, as if it came from the Netherworld, carrying endless malice and curses.

The sound grew clearer and clearer as it approached, each note like a heavy hammer striking the guardian's heart.

As the chanting began, countless dark purple vortexes appeared out of thin air, emanating chilling shrieks as if countless wronged souls were struggling within them.

Emerging from within were a group of mysterious figures clad in black robes and wielding bone staffs.

Their black robes fluttered in the void without wind, their faces shrouded in shadow, obscuring their features and giving them a mysterious and terrifying aura.

The skull at the top of the bone staff had eerie green flames flickering in its empty eye sockets, emitting a nauseating stench mixed with chaotic power that made one want to vomit.

The guardian looked at these mysterious figures and felt a familiar unease well up inside him, as if he had seen this scene in a nightmare before.

"The remnants of the observer, today is your death day."

The leader, a man in black robes, spoke in a hoarse and icy voice, as if two blocks of ice were rubbing against each other, devoid of any warmth. He brandished his bone staff, and the skull suddenly opened its mouth, spewing out clouds of black poisonous mist.

Wherever the poisonous fog went, space began to distort and deform, constantly emitting a "sizzling" corrosive sound, as if space itself was groaning in pain under the erosion of the poisonous fog.

The guardian, enduring the excruciating pain of his power being bound, channeled the runic power of his armor, forming a silver shield in front of him. The shield shimmered faintly, like a candle flickering in the darkness.

The poisonous mist crashed into the shield, producing a piercing crackling sound. Ripples spread across the surface of the shield, threatening to shatter at any moment. With each spread of the ripples, the guardians' hearts leaped into their throats.

He could feel the shield's power rapidly dwindling, while the mysterious man's attacks showed no sign of weakening.

In the chaos, the mark on the guardian's palm suddenly became hot, as if a raging fire was burning in his palm.

He looked down and saw that the mark was resonating with the crystal ball. A faint blue light shone from the eyes of the fused entity, projecting a blurry image in front of him.

In the video, the fused entity is in a secret chamber filled with glowing patterns. The walls of the chamber are covered with mysterious runes that emit an eerie light.

The Chaos Infant stood before her, toying with a core that emitted a faint glow in its hand. The core's appearance was somewhat similar to the crystal ball before her.

"This is the key to unlocking the shackles of fate... but it is also the most dangerous bait."

The voice of the fused entity came from the image, intermittent and filled with pain and struggle, as if each word required all its strength to be uttered.

The guardian felt a jolt in his heart, a mixture of confusion and determination flashing in his eyes. He knew that this might be the key to unraveling all the mysteries, but it could also plunge them into an abyss of no return.

He secretly vowed that no matter what, he would rescue the fusion entity and uncover the truth behind it.

The mysterious woman appeared beside the guardian at some unknown time. Her harp was in a dilapidated state, with several broken strings and cracks all over its body, but the strings still shone with a faint golden light, like a spark of hope, stubbornly dancing in the darkness.

"Sever the connection with the core of chaos using the shuttle!"

She shouted, her voice filled with anxiety and anticipation, as she plucked the strings of her zither. Golden sound waves, like sharp swords, cut through the wind and slashed at the approaching black-robed man.

Wherever the sound waves reached, the black-robed men's bodies were slashed with wounds, and blood gushed out, but they seemed to feel no pain and continued to rush forward madly.

The guardian gripped the shuttle of destiny tightly, and the seven stars embedded in the silver shuttle suddenly burst forth with dazzling light, a light like a brilliant galaxy that illuminated the surrounding darkness.

He swung the shuttle toward the crimson light that bound him. The moment the shuttle touched the light, all the stars began to dim. A powerful backlash came from the shuttle, making his hands go numb. Blood dripped down his arm and bloomed into crimson flowers on the ground.

He gritted his teeth, enduring the pain, and kept thinking of a solution.

Upon seeing this, the man in black robes let out a sinister laugh that echoed through the void, sending chills down everyone's spine.

"It's no use! This crystal ball is connected to the primordial power of the Chaos Core. The more you struggle, the tighter you will be bound!"

As his words fell, more black-robed figures surged out of the vortex, surging in like a tide, densely packed and stretching as far as the eye could see.

They formed a huge circle, and the skulls at the top of the bone staffs simultaneously emitted shrieks. The sounds converged to form a powerful sound wave that made the guardian's eardrums ache and blood spill from the corner of his mouth. He felt his head buzzing, as if the whole world was shaking under the impact of the sound wave.

His consciousness began to blur, but his conviction grew stronger. He could not fall; he could not let the Chaos Core's conspiracy succeed.

At the critical moment, the guardian suddenly remembered the words in the fused image.

Instead of forcibly severing the connection, he plunged the Star Chaos Sword into the ground. Silver and crimson power spread across the ground like two giant dragons roaming the earth, creating a standoff with the red light from the crystal ball.

He concentrated his mind, channeling the power within his body that resonated with the silver patterns of his fused form, and slowly poured it into the crystal ball. With each wisp of power he injected, he felt his body being drained a little more, but he gritted his teeth and refused to back down.

The crystal ball began to vibrate violently, emitting a piercing buzzing sound. The fused entity's expression also became distorted, and countless tiny cracks appeared around her body, as if it would shatter at any moment.

"What are you doing? This will terrify her!"

"The first observer's sister exclaimed, her eyes filled with anxiety and worry. She wanted to stop the guardian, but she was entangled by the man in black robes and could not break free."

The guardian did not respond, but gritted his teeth and continued to increase his power output. His eyes were filled with determination, as if he had made all the preparations.

Finally, the runes on the surface of the crystal ball began to crumble, and cracks spread across the surface of the runes, gradually making the figure of the fused entity clearer.

But just as the seal was about to be completely broken, the voice of the Chaos Infant suddenly echoed throughout the entire space, a voice filled with anger and mockery:

"Now that you're awake, none of you are leaving!"

Before the words were even finished, all the black-robed figures began to swell, emitting a sickeningly loud sound of bones growing. They transformed into enormous monsters, their skin turning dark red and covered with protruding spikes, each spike gleaming with a cold light.

The flames they spewed from their mouths instantly ignited the surrounding void, the flames roared, and the heat wave hit, making it impossible to breathe.

The fused entity inside the crystal ball had its eyes once again filled with dark purple light; its gaze was devoid of any emotion, like a cold-blooded killing machine.

A dark purple longsword appeared in her hand at some unknown time, its tip pointing directly at the guardian's heart.

At this moment, the guardian suddenly discovered that his armor was covered with tiny black insects. These insects were frantically devouring his power, and with each bite, he felt his power rapidly draining away.

In the far reaches of time and space, a colossal figure is slowly awakening. With each breath it takes, the entire universe trembles, and an unprecedented crisis is quietly descending.

The guardian gazed at the fused entity, his heart filled with grief and resentment. He cried out in his heart:

"Wake up, wake up! I will definitely save you!"
