Genshin Impact: The Road to Reversal

Chapter 609 The Sealed Land (Part 1)

Chapter 609 The Sealed Land (Part 1)

The cave suddenly trembled.

"What's going on?" Karin steadied herself and looked around warily.

Sugniel's eyes suddenly sharpened, a departure from his usual demeanor: "Something's up. You guys stay behind me."

As soon as he finished speaking, he quickened his pace, and at the same time, the grappling hook in his hand was already extended.

The four followed him through the tunnel and arrived at the ice cave below.

The sight before them made everyone gasp. The massive ice rock was covered with signs of battle; the ice was shattered, and the ice pillars had collapsed. But the most striking thing was the man lying beneath the ice wall.

"Look, there are people over there!" Karin shouted, pointing ahead.

Seeing this, everyone rushed forward, and at that moment, Sugniel's gaze suddenly widened.

The man had white hair and a buzz cut, and was burly with his upper body almost half-naked; he was covered in injuries.

"Uncle, are you alright?" Karin asked quickly.

Hearing the voice, the burly man leaned against the wall and slowly opened his eyes: "Humans...who are you, and why are you here?"

His voice was low.

Just as Karin was about to reply, Sugniel stepped forward with heavy steps.

"Solgarik?"

"Hmm?" The man slowly raised his head upon hearing the voice, and his eyes snapped open the moment their gazes met. "Sug...Neil?"

The air seemed to freeze for a moment.

Karin opened her mouth, looked at the burly man who was on the verge of death in front of her, and then at Sugniel with a complicated expression. For a moment, she didn't know what to say.

Mo Yan, Zhao Heng, and Zi Xuan exchanged bewildered glances.

Solgaley, the legendary ice rhinoceros who was executed for rebellion and one of the three saints of the glacier, is actually still alive.

"Heh..." Solgarley let out a low chuckle, which aggravated his wounds, and his brows furrowed slightly. "After all these centuries, you stinky tiger, you're still as annoying as ever."

Sugnir ignored his teasing, his gaze sweeping over the injuries on his body, and said in a deep voice, "Who did this?"

“A bunch of arrogant ants.” Solgari leaned back against the ice wall, panting. “Five of them, two of them… are interesting, one uses necromancy, and the other can transform weapons. The rest… are nothing but clowns.”

“The Fallen Gods Guild,” Mo Yan blurted out.

Solgarry slightly raised his eyes and looked at the unfamiliar young man: "You know them?"

“We are hunting them down,” Mo Yan explained briefly. “They infiltrated the glacier and stole the elemental power of the Ice Emperor in order to break the seal here.”

Solgarley's eyes suddenly sharpened.

“Those ants… their target is the seal?” He struggled to stand up, but his strength failed him, and he slumped back down. “Damn it… I have to… stop them…”

“You can’t even stand up right now, what are you trying to stop?” Sugniel said coldly.

Solgarley glared at him but didn't refute. He was indeed badly injured. The battle with the Fallen Gods had exhausted most of his strength, and that final blow had almost drained him of all his energy.

"Which way did they go?" Sugniel asked.

Solgarley raised his hand with difficulty, pointing to the depths of the tunnel: "Go through here... and further down... is the Sealed Land. You... be careful, those five guys... are not easy to deal with."

"Understood." Sugniel turned around and looked at Mo Yan and the other three. "Let's go."

"Wait a minute," Karin suddenly spoke up, "We can't just leave him here like this, can we?"

Solgarley paused slightly, looking at the unfamiliar girl.

“No need,” he said in a deep voice. “I won’t die.”

"Even if you don't die, you still need to be bandaged up!" she said anxiously.

As soon as she finished speaking, she quickly stepped forward and used her blood element to temporarily alleviate his injuries.

At this moment, Surgareh was slightly taken aback: "This is the power of the 'Blood Princess'? Who exactly are you...?"

“There’s no time to explain,” Sugnir said. “Old friend, you should rest first. Lord Hyotei is out there right now. We can talk properly later, okay?”

"Well, fine," he sighed.

"Hmm." Sugniel nodded slightly, and without further delay, led the four of them quickly into the depths of the tunnel.

Solgarley leaned against the ice wall, gazing in the direction they had disappeared, his expression complex.

"That guy Rek'os... is he here too..." he murmured softly, slowly closing his eyes.

……

Passing through the ice corridor, what comes into view is a dilapidated village. The houses are made of ice bricks, but most of them have collapsed, leaving only ruins standing silently in the extreme cold.

As they continued forward, the air grew increasingly cold and biting, with even their breath freezing into ice crystals in an instant, and the ice beneath their feet becoming thicker and thicker.

"It's colder here than outside." Karin huddled up, her body still unable to withstand the biting cold despite wearing warm clothes.

At that moment, Sugniel stopped and sighed in anger.

“Heh, why don’t you go out first? Staying here won’t be of any help.” He said with his arms crossed. “The environment ahead will be even colder. The fact that we haven’t seen the Fallen Gods’ Guild here means that their cold-weather protection is better than yours. In that case, forcing yourselves to stay will only be a burden.”

Everyone fell silent. Although they were reluctant to admit it, it was the truth.

In the cold wind, his body grew heavier and heavier. Even if he found the Fallen Gods Guild, he wouldn't be able to fight in his current state.

Rather than doing that, it would be better to return the way we came and tell Rek'os about the situation here.

"Okay, then be careful." Mo Yan nodded.

Upon hearing this, Sugniel chuckled and said, "Of course, you don't need to remind me. Alright, just leave obediently and leave the rest to me."

After saying this, Sugniel took two steps forward, then with a light step, he vanished without a trace, like the wind.

Seeing this, the group no longer hesitated and returned the way they came.

……

At this moment, down the mountain, Rek'os and Rednos stood side by side, while Clementine and Sandone led their elite troops to set up a perimeter, and the dragon Caesar and Mona waited patiently beside them.

"They've been inside for a while now, haven't they?" Rednos asked.

Rek'os nodded slightly, his gaze piercing through the wind and snow as he looked at the frozen mountain: "The internal structure of the Abyss is complex, and with the influence of the seal, communications will be severely disrupted. No news is not necessarily bad news."

“But the earthquake just now clearly indicates that there are problems inside the Abyss. They might already be engaged in combat.” Rednos crossed his arms and took two steps forward.

Then he turned around and said, "Seriously, didn't you say you were going to discuss the seriousness of this matter with the Holy Lord? Did you actually do that?"

Rek'os nodded: "Of course, I have already asked the adults during the preparation period."

"Oh? What did the master say?"

"The adults didn't say it explicitly, but their meaning was clear: we have to handle it ourselves."

“Tsk, as expected, not surprising at all,” Rednos said, shaking his head.

At that moment, another sound came from within the iceberg.
