Chapter 1559: Can it make the Lord of the Branch Road feel it has value?
The Elven Starborn never imagined that the intelligence broker had brought over a regional lord. They were initially incredulous, then overjoyed.
You've struck gold! It's like randomly asking someone on the street some magic questions, and they turn out to be a master of truth who even tells you the secrets of the magic you asked about.
As for the other party's identity, the Elven Starborn had no doubts, because of the Pillar of the Road behind him.
Negris also said in the Soul Network: "I was wondering what kind of pillar it was that could make others have no doubt about your identity. Turns out it's the signature of the stars."
The pillar behind Lomulor appears to be a pillar of starfire, but in reality, each starfire has subtle variations. These subtle variations allow the Starborn to easily distinguish these starfires, essentially making them the signatures of the God Star.
A Starfire Pillar covered with the 'signatures' of the gods can only be possessed by the Lord of the Branch. Other gods who want to collect it would find it difficult to travel all over the branch, let alone whether they are willing to do so.
If you have the ability to traverse the entire side road unscathed, then you are the master of the side road.
These branch pillars are even difficult to forge, because while you can fake one or two star flames, it's very difficult to fake the entire pillar. If you have the ability to forge so many star flames, then you are the master of the branch.
It's somewhat like a ritual object; it doesn't increase your strength, and it's extremely difficult to collect. Actively trying to collect it is not worth the effort.
However, if you are the master of a branch, and the gods within that branch voluntarily contribute, the collection difficulty is not very high. However, the voluntary contribution of the gods is the most difficult.
With the pillar of the branch standing there, neither of the two Starborn doubted Lomulor's identity. They were just shocked that the silver coin could summon the master of the branch, and wondered which branch master it was.
The moment the question arose in their minds, both elven starborn secretly pounded their chests in frustration, realizing they hadn't spent thirty-six star flames to inquire about each other's identities.
Thirty-six Star Flame wouldn't be willing to pay for an identity information, but if the other party is a branch leader, then it would be worth it.
Why didn't you buy it earlier, Master? Can you take it back now?
Whether they could or not, they dared not go back on their word in front of the lord of the branch road. They could only obediently stay where they were, watching the silver coins report to the other party, and then accept the other party's 'inspection'.
Luo Mulu's thoughts slowly swept over them, carrying an immense pressure from a superior, causing them to tremble involuntarily.
If the pillars of a branch are not enough to prove the other party's identity, then this all-pervasive will is enough to prove the other party's strength. The one who possesses this will, even if not the master of a branch, is a powerful god star at the level of a master of a branch.
They watched as Lomulor swept his gaze over them several times, then said something to the silver coin and left.
Ninety-six equivalents of Starfire were exchanged for this brief scene, but the Elven Starborn felt it was well worth it. They even regretted not paying another thirty-six Starfires and wished they could immediately curry favor with the other party and buy their identity information as well.
“Lord Silver Coin, I am willing to pay thirty-six Star Flames to purchase information on this Branch Lord,” said the Elven Starborn.
Silver Coin shook his head: "When you bought it at the beginning, it was just a piece of information. Now that I'm telling you, it's like I'm leaking information about the Lord of the Branch Road. The meaning is completely different. Timing is very important with information. Once the time is gone, it becomes outdated information."
The Elven Starborn had long anticipated that the silver coins would no longer be able to use the Thirty-Six Star Flames, so they sold the identity information of a branch lord, and therefore did not see anything wrong with it; on the contrary, they felt it made perfect sense.
What was just a routine message is now being projected by the Lord of the Branch Road. Selling it now would be considered a leak. With that in mind, the two Elven Starborn secretly vowed that from now on, they would buy any news they saw without hesitation.
After gathering his thoughts, the Elven Starborn returned to his initial question: "Did the Lord of the Side Roads say whether the Boundless Lands have reopened?"
"This is a four-way super news, do you really want to know?" Silver Coin asked.
"How much Starfire do you need?" the Elven Starborn asked.
"Once we reach the fourth level of the super-powerful realm, it's not just about Star Flame anymore, but what you can offer?" Silver Coin said.
The Elven Starborn exchanged bewildered glances: "What do you mean?"
Silver Coin explained, "You should also know that Starfire has no value to the Divine Star, right?"
The Elven Starborn exchanged a glance and nodded, confirming the silver coin's claim. Starfire had no value to a god-star; which god-star didn't have starfire? Starfire was the most basic component of a god-star, just as money was meaningless to a bank because it printed the money.
“We’re exchanging Starfire here simply because we’re using it as a general equivalent, assigning a price to each piece of information, and then we consume that Starfire. But information at the level of a Super Star is generally only meaningful to a God Star, not to us. Does your main star need Starfire?” Silver Coin asked.
Upon hearing this, Anthony subtly gave Silver Coin a thumbs up. There was a trap in this question. Although everyone had long suspected that the two Elven Starborn were being supported by a divine star, Silver Coin's question was going to confirm that suspicion.
The Elven Starborn didn't notice the trap and simply shook their heads. Their home planet certainly didn't need Starfire; a hundred or so Starfires wouldn't even be enough for the home planet to sneeze.
Silver Coin continued, "So the Four Superpowers aren't accepting Star Flame's message. What do you have that's valuable to God Star?"
The Elven race looked at each other for a moment, and after a long while, they said, "We need to go back and discuss this."
The silver coin made a gesture of invitation.
Seeing the Elven Starborn leave, Negris complained, "It's such a hassle. They can't make the decisions, and we have to go back and discuss it. All that time is wasted on deliberation."
Anthony rolled his eyes: "Do you think this is the Mercenary Guild? You want to buy information, so you just hand over the money and get a note back? For truly valuable intelligence, it's normal to go back and forth a dozen times, from verifying its authenticity to negotiating the price and making the deal."
Silver Coin laughed and said, "We did have some gains, didn't we? We have over a hundred Star Flames now."
Anthony turned to Lomulor and asked, "You are a god, what do you think is valuable that they can offer?"
Lomulor had just projected himself onto the pillar of support, then retreated, and then projected back into the original Starborn body. He was currently shrunken to the side in Starborn form, and upon hearing this, said:
"It's a bit difficult to find something of value to me. Right now, I just want to stay as far away from the Otherworldly Ghost as possible. I think the Otherworldly Ghost's location is the most valuable."
