Chapter 53 Stray Cats
Chapter 53 Stray Cats
Sunlight filters through the trees, casting its glow upon you. A gentle breeze carries the scent of spring, and the pink blossoms on the branches tremble lightly in the wind.
Everything was so peaceful and beautiful that it was almost unreal.
You wiped your mouth with the tissue Qin Che handed you and said, "The sandwiches from this breakfast cart are indeed quite good. It would have been perfect if they hadn't been pretending to go for a morning run and spied on you earlier."
"Good eye." Qin Che praised without any harshness, "But their target is not just me. After all, you were the one who won the bid just now."
You were taken aback: "Bidding? Bidding for what?"
So playing cards is like bidding against each other!
"A new type of weapon," Qin Che said casually.
You choked on your saliva and coughed repeatedly.
"Ahem...they think I...want to steal their weapons?"
Qin Che gently patted your back, his tone slightly teasing.
"What? Scared? The speed and force of your punch just now showed that you didn't take any of the people here seriously."
You comfort yourself, saying, "It's okay, it's okay, it's just robbing weapons!"
Guns and ammunition are nothing special.
You gave Qin Che an awkward laugh and said, "I can only act so recklessly because you're backing me up."
Qin Che seemed pleased by your words, and a hint of a smile appeared at the corner of his eyes.
"Oh right, I just followed your instructions and my punching speed has really improved a lot."
Your eyes are bright and sparkling with excitement.
Qin Che looked at your hand thoughtfully.
"You were able to apply what you learned so well after only practicing it once. You must have been very popular with your teachers at the Hunter Academy."
"Now I want you to like me even more." You leaned closer, smiling brightly. "How about it? Do you like me a little more now?"
Qin Che flicked your forehead but didn't answer the question.
Just then, a black stray cat followed the scent and peeked out from beside the bench.
Qin Che naturally bent down to tease the cat.
You were about to remind him to be careful when the wary black cat raised its paw and scratched Qin Che.
!!!
"You can't just touch stray cats; they're very wary."
Qin Che suddenly stood up, exuding a dangerous aura, which startled the little black cat, causing it to take a few steps back.
You stepped forward and nervously pulled Qin Che's scratched hand. Although it was just a minor scrape and a little blood, you still felt sorry for him.
“Stray cats need sharp claws to protect themselves. A sudden approach will make them think you are going to hurt them. Although it’s just a minor injury for you, can we try to avoid such unnecessary injuries in the future?” You stared intently at Qin Che, as if you would give him a couple of scratches even if he didn’t agree.
Qin Che remained silent and did not answer.
You didn't hesitate and just took it as a yes.
"I used to feed stray cats. These little guys are like this when they're not familiar with you. If you can't take them home and be responsible for their future, keeping a certain distance is actually a good thing for both of us. Otherwise, if they trust humans too much, they're easily kidnapped by bad people. Society is dangerous, and there are a lot of perverts."
Qin Che looked at you, his eyes filled with complex emotions: "What are you implying?"
"Huh? Weren't you talking about stray cats?" You were puzzled, but it took you a moment to realize what they meant.
Your eyes darted around: "You mean, I'm a kitten you picked up? I'm implying that if you don't intend to take responsibility for me, you should stay away from me."
You touched your chin, continuing, "Come to think of it, it does resemble it, but what's with that expression?"
You pointed your finger at his nose, practically stabbing him: "You don't want to take responsibility for me?! Just tell me, is that what you mean?"
