Chapter 72 Each Their Own Story

Chapter 72 Each Their Own Story

……

Blanca has been gone for two months now. Although her family doesn't need the money (laughs, Mebius can't pay much salary at all, she herself is even eating instant noodles to save money for experiments), Blanca is not a typical housewife and still wants a more relaxed job.

After hearing what Hen said, Desdobia's eyes lit up, and she enthusiastically recommended, "Research institutes in the Americas are perfect! Although most of them work six days a week and have one day off, the daily working hours are no more than six hours. I was so envious when I saw the job postings!"

Hen shook his head: "Our whole family is in Mu Continent, how could she possibly go to America to find work? Let's not talk about that. Did you receive any instructions after you came back? Are you going to rejoin the team or are there other arrangements?"

Desdovia: "I don't know..."

At this moment, Kosmo, who had been silent all along, finally spoke.

"Although it's not entirely clear, judging from Mei's tone, there's a high probability of a major reshuffle coming up."

Hen: "Oh? Tell me more?"

Kosmo shook his head silently, meaning he didn't know anything more.

Desdovia raised her hand: "I remember now! May seemed to say there's going to be a big event soon, and it would be best if everyone could attend!"

"But... how do I put it, this doesn't really count as a 'transfer,' does it? At most, it's just a large social gathering?"

Even so, it's enough to generate anticipation!

Seeing Desdobia's excited expression, Kosmo shook his head inwardly, deciding not to disturb her.

There are so many things I want to say, but I think it's better to swallow them back. Enjoying happiness for a while is fine, isn't it?

……

At night.

Hen treated Desdobia and Kosmo to dinner out of his own pocket to celebrate their return. By sheer coincidence, they bumped into Yun Fuyu (not at all coincidental, as Yun was actually a member of the third squad).

Yun Fuyu's eyes lit up, and she excitedly came forward to greet him (she saw a familiar face; this child was having his old habit).

"Boss Hen, who are these two? Aren't you going to introduce them to me?"

Seeing Yun Fuyu's behavior, Hen wondered to himself: Why is this child so enthusiastic? Is he unable to resist a pretty girl? But he clearly likes Xier...

The orange-haired girl, Desdovia, extended her hand confidently: "Hello, I'm Desdovia, and this is Kosmo. We joined the Third Squad two years ago. Are you a newcomer to the Third Squad?"

Yun Fuyu shook hands with her: "Yes, I joined after the Sixth Herrscher. It's nice to meet you all."

Kosmo stared at their clasped hands, his eyes narrowing.

The next second, Yun Fuyu let go of her hand as she felt a chill on the back of her head. She looked around but couldn't see that familiar blue figure. She scratched her head, thinking it was probably just her imagination.

Hen interjected: "Yun Fuyu is that special survivor (referring to: the one who traveled with Creation). After participating in Möbius's experiment, his strength is now greater than mine and Kevin's."

Desdobia covered her mouth in surprise and exclaimed, while nudging Kosmo next to her: "Really? Even stronger than Boss Kevin?"

Kosmo's biggest idol was Kevin, and he looked puzzled, clearly not believing it.

Yun Fuyu shook his head and waved his hand: "You flatter me, you flatter me. This technology is not yet mature. You'd better pretend you didn't hear it."

He poked the wound hard and said in a low voice, "We agreed that the fusion surgery would be kept secret! How come you're even more talkative than me?"

After all, is a person still considered "human" by definition after undergoing fusion surgery? Although Yun Fuyu did not experience significant side effects, it was clearly limited to him alone. Ethical issues coupled with severe side effects mean that fusion surgery remains a closely guarded secret, not easily disclosed to others.

Hen, however, had other thoughts. On one hand, he believed that Kosmo and Desdobia were trustworthy; on the other hand, if the fusion surgery continued to progress, Kevin and he would probably be in the first tier, while Kosmo and Desdobia would be at least in the 1.5 tier, so there was nothing to hide.

He forcefully ignored Yun Fuyu's question and changed the subject: "We're going out to eat now to welcome them back. Do you want to join in?"

This suggestion to "get involved" may seem like an invitation, but it clearly expresses his refusal.

Yun Fuyu shook his head: "No, Xi'er isn't feeling well, I need to go buy her some medicine."

Hen: "What medicine? What's wrong with her?"

Yun Fuyu looked troubled, and Daisy Dobiya immediately understood. She pulled Hen forward, saying, "Don't ask so many questions about girls' affairs. Let's go eat!"

That's right, it's menstrual cramps... Daisy Dobia understood immediately, which led her to mistakenly believe that Yun Fuyu had some special relationship with a girl named "Seele", so she took the initiative to help him out of the predicament.

Hen, still half-asleep, shook his head, not wanting to get involved in their affairs, and walked straight ahead. Kosmo followed without a word, while Desdobia gave Yun Fuyu an encouraging gesture and hurriedly jogged to catch up with them.

Everyone has their own story.

Yun Fuyu hurriedly arrived at the pharmacy, told her what medicine she wanted to buy (the name of the medicine that Xier mentioned), and chuckled dryly amidst the counter lady's praise, "You are such a considerate boyfriend," before carrying the medicine back to her dormitory.

Seele frowned cutely as she took the medicine bag, whispered a thank you, and then decisively closed the door, clearly embarrassed.

Oh, she's so cute!

However, to prevent Xier from being genuinely unwell and not just acting, Yun Fuyu refrained from laughing out loud and continued to type on his phone to inquire about her condition.

Seele replied casually, but she was actually quite happy inside.

Whether it's acting or not, who can guarantee that every word they say is a fabrication from a script?

……

……

"Vilvie, do me a favor."

"No time, not doing it, goodbye."

"stop."

In the empty conference room, Möbius grabbed Velvi by the collar, looked down at her, and asked, word by word, "Say it again?"

Vervi couldn't help but roll her eyes, and said before Mebius could lose his temper, "Alright, alright, I agree, okay? Hurry up and tell me, I have things to do."

Möbius: "You heard what Mei just said. I'm in charge of the props for the social event. Would you like to take over the contract?"

They had just finished a serious meeting. But there were some less serious things that happened during the meeting.

Mei informed everyone of the decision to hold the "First All-Staff Gathering of the Moth Chasing Flames," or "The Moth Chasing Flames Gathering" for short. Mei's words were significant, and her reasons were impeccable. Therefore, although holding a meeting for this purpose seemed somewhat ridiculous, no one dared to laugh and instead unanimously expressed their agreement.

To Möbius's surprise, because of her previous "support," May maliciously entrusted her with the task of preparing the props. Although Möbius wanted to refuse on the spot, May's counter-question shut her down.

"Then why were you so enthusiastic about supporting me yesterday?"

Because Mebius was too lazy to contact Alicia! She thought that as long as she expressed her support, Alicia would obediently come back, but who would have thought that Mebius would assign her more work because of this? Wouldn't that be a loss for her?

But Mebius certainly wouldn't say something that would be too embarrassing for him.

Frustrated, the green-haired doctor gritted her teeth, her brilliant mind racing. She remembered a young man surnamed Yun who had indirectly caused all of this... Hmph, she suddenly had a simple yet ingenious idea!
