"Host, was this bracelet really that important to the original owner?" Xiao Ba asked, looking at Xia Mingwei's serious face.
"Silly girl, are you really stupid, or are you pretending? The bracelet thing was just something I made up, an excuse! If I didn't say that, how could I find an excuse to get closer to you two?" Xia Mingwei answered Xiao Ba's question helplessly in her mind.
After finally getting out of school, while packing her things, Xia Mingwei extended an invitation to Li Ming.
"You've helped me so much today. To express my gratitude, I'd like to treat you to a meal. What do you think?"
Xia Ming blinked her round eyes, her gaze filled with longing, like a little golden retriever yearning to be petted.
Li Ming wanted to refuse, but under Xia Mingwei's gaze, he inexplicably agreed to the request.
"It's settled then, we'll meet at the food street later!"
Hearing this, Li Ming regained some of his composure. Seeing Xia Mingwei about to leave, he hurriedly grabbed her hand, "No, I just remembered, I have things to do after school, I need to rush to practice!"

Li Ming watched Xia Mingwei's departing figure, lost in thought, but he didn't have the time or energy to think about such things right now.
He grabbed his schoolbag and hurriedly rushed to the practice room.

However, his predicament was that he only had enough money for the bus fare. If he ate noodles with soybean paste, it would mean he would have to walk three hours to get home.
He stared at the food, his eyes filled with longing. He swallowed hard, lowered his head, touched his empty stomach, and decided to go to the bus stop to wait for the bus.
But Xia Mingwei saw everything that happened. She had decided to come here after school to do something for him.
Just as Li Ming was about to get into the car, someone grabbed his hand.
He turned around and was surprised to see that the person who came was Xia Mingwei.

"You? How did you get here?"
Xia Mingwei looked at his clothes, which were already soaked with sweat, and asked mysteriously, "Guess?"
He tilted his head slightly. "Are you here on business?"
"No!" Xia Ming smiled and denied his answer.
"Then why did you come here? Could it be for me?" The moment he asked the question, Li Ming blushed, even surprised at his own shamelessness.
Seeing his troubled expression, Xia Mingwei then revealed her purpose for coming.
"Didn't we agree before? You helped me a lot, so I was going to treat you to dinner! I think this is a good deal!"
After Xia Mingwei finished speaking, she didn't give Li Ming time to react and pulled him to sit down in front of a stall.
"Boss, two servings of noodles with soybean paste!" Xia Mingwei called out to the boss.
Li Ming felt he should refuse, so he stated his position clearly: "I'm not hungry, you don't need to do this!"
Before he could finish speaking, an untimely sound came from his stomach.
Upon hearing this voice, Li Ming's face flushed red instantly, wishing there was a hole in the ground he could crawl into.
Xia Mingwei looked at his flushed face, pretending not to have heard, and her expression remained as usual.
"I know you're not hungry, it's me who's hungry. I want someone to eat this noodle dish with me!"
Upon hearing this unexpected answer, Li Ming was stunned for a moment.
The noodles arrived quickly. Xia Mingwei looked at Li Ming, who seemed a little dazed, and said, "Eat quickly, or the noodles will clump together and won't taste good!"
During the meal, neither of them uttered a single word. Xia Mingwei and Li Ming each ate their own bowls of noodles, lost in their own thoughts.
After finishing their noodles with soybean paste, Xia Mingwei spoke her mind, "Can I come to have dinner with you at this time every day from now on?"
Others might have thought this was a windfall and been overjoyed, but Li Ming thought differently.
Hearing this, he frowned. "I appreciate your treat today. But your suggestion that we should eat together from now on—were you just saying that out of pity for me?"
Xia Mingwei waved her hands repeatedly, denying his statement. Then, she told him about her own experience.
Her tone was unhurried and flat, as if she were talking about someone else, not herself.
Li Ming sat quietly to the side, listening to her finish telling her story. A sudden feeling of helplessness welled up inside him; he didn't know how to comfort the person in front of him.
After saying everything, Xia Mingwei took a deep breath and said to Li Ming, "I've always been all alone before, but now I want to try to make friends so that I'll have fewer regrets in the future!"
Seeing Xia Mingwei's dejected expression, Li Ming felt even his heart of iron melt. If it were anyone else who had offended him like this, he would have refused them outright without hesitation. But faced with Xia Mingwei's honesty and sincerity, he simply couldn't bring himself to say no.
"Then let's do as you say! From now on, we'll meet here at this time every day, without fail!"
Seeing that he had agreed to her request, Xia Mingwei was overjoyed and nodded repeatedly.
