Chapter 19 Amateur
Chapter 19 Amateur
"Damn, you're playing dirty tricks, aren't you?" Yang Guizhou's eyes widened, and he couldn't help but curse.
Unlike him, Bai Hongxue stood in mid-air with her arms crossed, watching the three water-based ability users with envy in her eyes. She whistled, praising the dramatic scene: "Cool!"
At their feet, Liu Hua, the weakest and lowest-ranked player on the team, currently only at level two, twitched his fingers. He braced himself against the ground with all his might, but ultimately collapsed to the floor, utterly exhausted. Liu Hua opened his mouth in vain, his breath coming in a weak, unsteady voice: "I..."
His two teammates didn't have time to pay attention to him.
Finally facing reality, Liu Hua closed her eyes in frustration and silently analyzed what had just happened.
He was the first to notice something was wrong with the three water-type ability users, but he was also the first to be forced to leave the battlefield. Ironically, he was the one who could see the situation most clearly. The ultimate winner of this boss battle may be someone else.
Unfortunately, he was currently seriously injured and couldn't use any healing items. Neither of his teammates could be relied on. Liu Hua secretly comforted himself, "It's okay, it's just a game..."
"Go to hell!" The hot-tempered Yan Mengqi couldn't stand it. "You little Gallic chickens, little devils, little kangaroos, just you wait, I'll kill you all!"
Chu Deng steadied her breathing, looking at the three smiling figures in the arena. She'd seen this kind of backstabbing all the time; it wasn't surprising. She narrowed her eyes, noticing something amiss, and pulled Yan Mengqi back, warning her against impulsiveness, "The levels are wrong."
Gabriel, who had been silently observing them, looked at Chu Deng with admiration in his eyes and smiled, "Finally, someone has discovered it." As if he couldn't help but show off a secret he had kept hidden for a long time, he waved his hand, and a blue light flashed on the three water-type ability users, and their ability levels after their game names were updated.
"One, two, three, four... five—" Bai Hongxue counted the blue water droplets symbolizing the ability level after Gabriel's game name, and couldn't help but click her tongue in amazement after she finished counting.
He's a level 5 ability user!
Xingchen quickly scanned the levels of everyone else in the room, from highest to lowest:
Gabriel River System, Level 5
Zoe, Water type, Level 4
Qianshui River System, Level 4
Yan Mengqi, Metal Element, Level 4
Chu Deng, Fire type, Level 4
Starry Sky, Ice Type, Level 4
Yang Guizhou, Thunder Element, Level 4
Bai Hongxue, Wind type, Level 3
Willow Birch, Wood Element, Level 2, [Severely Injured]
Ignoring the surprised or serious expressions on the faces of the group, Zoe rolled her eyes, disapproving of Gabriel's smug look, and urged, "Hurry up and level up, this sea monster isn't dead yet! I'm waiting to log off! Seriously, who knew that doing an exploration quest would forcibly lock the dungeon..."
Hearing Zoe's dissatisfied grumbling, Qian Shui gathered her wind-blown hair and said softly, "Gabriel, please level up quickly."
Satisfied with the performance of the five opponents, Gabriel chuckled, clutching the level-six water-element crystal, and said, "Alright, it's getting late, we should finish this quickly." He turned to Chu Deng, "Let's add each other as friends? We can play games together next time."
Xingchen's gaze pierced the golden-haired peacock like a knife, and she pursed her lips.
Chu Deng looked up, her attitude indifferent: "No, thank you."
The next second, taking advantage of Gabriel's surprise, she swept her long legs across the ground like whips, raising a cloud of dust.
"What?!" Gabriel's smile froze.
In the blink of an eye, a sudden, divinely inspired gale whipped up sand and dust, blurring everyone's vision.
Zoe and Qian Shui's eyes were sharp. The overwhelming curtain of water fought against the wind and sand, like wiping the dust off glass, suppressing the sandstorm under the moisture.
When their vision cleared, everyone saw Yan Mengqi dressed in armor, holding a longsword with star patterns, and accurately thrusting it at the wary Gabriel.
A golden light flashed across Gabriel's body, and the fingers holding the level-six water-element crystal suddenly went empty. After a quick flash of blue light symbolizing the upgrade, a muffled sound came from the waist and abdomen where he had been stabbed, like the strange sensation of metal falling into water.
Gabriel's superpowers instantly upgraded, turning him into water!
Upon seeing this, Yang Guizhou rushed forward and arrived at Yan Mengqi's side in less than a few seconds, grabbing Yan Mengqi's iron sword.
Suddenly, streaks of purple lightning flashed on the star-shaped markings embedded in the sword, and the lightning, with unstoppable force, coiled around the sword and pierced into Gabriel's transformed waist and abdomen.
"Ha!" Gabriel frowned and let out a muffled groan that was hard to understand, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
Someone is in more pain than him.
"Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!" Yan Mengqi's long, wavy hair stood on end. She took a few steps back, released her grip on the sword hilt, and cursed with a ferocious expression, "Damn it, you shocked me with your electric shock!"
Yang Guizhou ignored her, instead gripping the lightning-infused sword and piercing Gabriel's abdomen.
The entire iron sword passed through the transparent blue water without obstruction and finally landed on the beach.
However, the star-shaped markings and blue-purple lightning on the sword remained in the water. The lightning spread throughout the water, penetrating deep into Gabriel's internal organs. The intense numbness and burning pain caused his eyes to turn red and made him suffer terribly.
Take advantage of his illness and kill him.
Yang Guizhou didn't give him a chance to retaliate. He clenched his right fist and smashed it toward Gabriel's head, but the moment he threw the punch, he withdrew his force and instead turned his feet, retreating backward.
The sudden, sharp tentacle grazed Yang Guizhou's arm, not completely hitting the enemy, but leaving a deep, bone-deep bloodstain.
"What the hell?" Yang Guizhou had just caught his breath when he saw the tentacle attack him, then twist in the air, grab Gabriel who had been electrocuted by it, and shrink back.
Yang Guizhou subconsciously looked at the ocean overlord, whom he thought could only struggle to the death, but found that things were not as they thought. So he wiped his sweat, put on a cold face, and chased after it.
Seeing this, Yan Mengqi was about to give chase when a curtain of water blocked her path.
"Come on, let's have a go?" A little red-haired kangaroo opened his palm and beckoned to her, even striking a classic martial arts pose, looking like he wanted to learn from her.
Yan Mengqi couldn't help but burst out laughing, "Hahaha, big sister, you're too funny."
Bai Hongxue, who was observing nearby, was drawn by the commotion and hid above to observe secretly.
As soon as Yan Mengqi finished speaking, she punched Zoe in the arm, and steel spikes that gleamed coldly instantly emerged from the steel-encased fist.
Caught off guard, Zoe only had time to dodge, her arm grazed by the steel needle, drawing blood. She took a few steps back to create distance, licked the blood from her arm, but instead of being angry, she showed a hint of barely perceptible regret: "It seems you don't know how to use your powers at all."
An outsider. Zoe thought to herself, feeling the strange flow of air, then dismissed her own thoughts.
Two laymen.
