Chapter 9 Su Wan'er is robbed
In the rolling mountains outside the capital, a band of bandits roamed the forests. They had been entrenched there for years, robbing and plundering, committing all sorts of atrocities. On this day, as usual, they lay in ambush on the path at the foot of the mountain, waiting for passing merchants.
Since her stroll in the Prince's garden that day, Su Wan'er had been feeling down. Unconsciously, she strayed from the right path and headed towards the edge of this dangerous mountain forest. Dressed in an elegant light silk dress, her delicate figure stood out conspicuously in the desolate wilderness.
The bandits spotted Su Wan'er. Seeing that she was alone, and possessed stunning beauty and extraordinary bearing, their wicked desires were immediately aroused. The bandit leaders exchanged glances, revealing cunning and greedy smiles, and immediately decided to abduct her up the mountain.
Lost in her thoughts, Su Wan'er suddenly heard a cacophony of footsteps and shouts around her. Before she could react, a group of menacing-looking bandits appeared before her. Her eyes widened in terror; she wanted to cry for help, but in this desolate wilderness, who would come to her rescue?
The bandits swarmed forward, ignoring Su Wan'er's struggles and resistance, and forcibly abducted her up the mountain. Su Wan'er struggled desperately, tears welling in her eyes, her heart filled with fear and despair. "Who are you? Why are you taking me?" she asked in a trembling voice.
The bandit leader laughed loudly, "Little lady, don't be afraid. We brothers are lonely living on this mountain. Seeing that you are so beautiful, we want to invite you to come up the mountain and be our wife. If you behave, you will be rich and honored."
Upon hearing this, Su Wan'er became even more frightened. She knew she absolutely could not fall into the hands of these bandits, or her innocence would be in jeopardy. "Let me go! I am the Ninth Prince's beloved. If you dare to touch me, the Prince will not let you off!" She tried to intimidate the bandits by using Murong Yi's identity.
However, these bandits, who had been committing crimes in these mountains for years, were not afraid of the Ninth Prince. "Hahahaha, the Ninth Prince? What can he do to me? In these deep mountains and forests, even the Heavenly King himself can't control us." The bandits laughed and continued to escort Su Wan'er up the mountain.
Su Wan'er was taken to a bandit stronghold. The stronghold was simple and chaotic, littered with loot and weapons stolen by the bandits. She was locked in a dilapidated room, her heart filled with helplessness and sorrow. She thought of Murong Yi, wondering if she would ever see him again.
"Your Highness, where are you? Please come and save me..." Su Wan'er sobbed softly, her voice echoing in the silent room. She knew she had to find a way to escape, but what could she do against these vicious bandits?
Meanwhile, Lin Xiaoqian sat in the council hall of the Prince's mansion, her brows furrowed, racking her brains for any clues she might have overlooked. She knew that in this ancient society, information transmission was difficult, and to find Su Wan'er, she had to break through conventional thinking. Suddenly, an idea struck her, and she stood up and said to Murong Yi, "Your Highness, our previous searches have mostly focused on inhabited areas. Have you considered that Miss Su might have been taken to a remote place? For example, in the mountains and forests, where the mountains are high and the roads are long, making it easy for her to hide."
Murong Yi was shocked, realizing that Lin Xiaoqian's words were absolutely right. He immediately issued an order to gather hunters familiar with the surrounding mountain terrain and experienced soldiers to form several search teams, which then set off towards several mountains near the capital.
In that dark, damp, abandoned woodshed, Su Wan'er huddled in a corner, her hands tightly bound with rough hemp rope, leaving red marks. Her eyes were filled with terror and despair; her former gentle elegance had been replaced by wretchedness and helplessness.
Several fierce-looking men stood guard at the door, ignoring her painful struggles.
Su Wan'er tried to call for help, but the rag stuffed in her mouth only allowed her to make weak whimpering sounds. She struggled desperately, trying to break free of the ropes, her frail body rolling back and forth on the ground, her hair disheveled and scattered across her face.
However, her resistance was utterly futile against these strong confinements. Each struggle only resulted in the ropes digging deeper into her skin, and excruciating pain spread throughout her body, yet she refused to give up, constantly calling out Murong Yi's name in her heart, hoping that he would descend like a god and rescue her from this endless abyss of darkness.
