Chapter 192: Speaking Out and Arguing
Chapter 192: Speaking Out and Arguing
Sirius knew that Gloria was right. "Indeed, that night, Dumbledore and Fudge had a complete falling out and parted ways. Dumbledore clearly said that he would act according to his own will."
"Even... Snape took the initiative to reveal the Dark Mark, but Fudge still thought it was just a trick. There is really no hope."
Sirius's face turned even uglier when this was mentioned. He was so stubborn and cowardly that he didn't have the responsibility of a Minister of Magic at all.
"You must be prepared." Gloria said, "Voldemort will not take any obvious action in the short term. He is similar to me now. He needs time to recuperate, recover his strength, and summon his former subordinates."
At this she looked at Draco, "Is your father okay?"
"My father wrote back from the Ministry of Magic the morning after I wrote the letter, saying that a suspicious figure appeared near the manor that night."
"They took action?" Sirius knew that Lucius's Dark Mark was gone and he did not appear in the cemetery, so he was indeed on Gloria's side.
"No." Draco shook his head. "The manor is under a Fidelius Charm, and the secret keeper is Rory. No one can find the place."
Sirius picked up the bag on the bedside cabinet, "Here is your championship prize, one thousand gold Galleons."
Gloria had a dull expression. The thing that the three people present had the most was Galleon.
"I can go now."
Sirius finally nodded, "Of course, I'll be leaving when you wake up, I'll pick you up at the station on the day off."
Mrs. Weasley and the others left yesterday, but Sirius insisted on staying because she hadn't woken up.
When I walked out of the medical wing, I realized it was almost noon, just in time for lunch.
When the people in the auditorium saw Gloria appear, the discussion suddenly became much quieter. Draco held her hand and sat at the Slytherin table.
The students around them didn't dare to talk to them.
"What's wrong?" Gloria asked Draco.
The boy brought her a plate of fried shrimps, "I'm all curious about what happened to you that night."
Crabbe and Goyle didn't sit next to them as before, but sat at a distance and didn't even dare to look at them.
Many of the British wizarding families that Lucius had once been friends with were Death Eaters. It was estimated that these two had received letters from their respective fathers.
Gloria ate in silence. Many students at the Slytherin table were whispering. Students from other houses might not know yet, but someone among them must know that Voldemort had recovered.
After lunch, Gloria said, "You go back first. I have something to talk to Harry. We'll meet in the lounge later."
Draco nodded when he heard that, then stood up, glanced at everyone and left.
Gloria grabbed the bag of Galleons and walked straight to the Gryffindor table. She stopped beside Harry and said, "Let's go."
Harry quickly put down his knife and fork and followed her, "Leah, are you okay now?"
"Yes." Gloria walked quickly to an empty corner with no portraits around. She stuffed the bag into Harry's hand and said, "There are 500 Galleons in it. Thank you for your help after I fainted that night."
Harry pushed it back directly, "No! It's what I should have done."
"You are the first one to touch the Champions League Cup. We fought against Voldemort together, so we should share it equally. Don't refuse." She said without question, and threw the bag into Harry's arms. "Harry, everything has just begun. Be careful during your vacation. I will write to you."
Harry held the bag absentmindedly, "He's back...will he attack the Muggle world, and other wizards?"
"There's no point in worrying about these things, but I guess he will hide well." Gloria said: "He has recovered his physical body, but not his full strength. He captured so many Death Eaters that year, it will take time to gather his subordinates who have not been imprisoned yet."
Harry could only nod, "I see. By the way, Karkaroff escaped. He felt the call of the Dark Mark and left Hogwarts overnight."
Gloria was not surprised at all. "Sirius said that he gained his freedom after betraying many people. Voldemort will not let him go. Such a traitor will be killed to deter others."
There was the sound of footsteps approaching around the corner, and a tall boy in Hufflepuff uniform appeared.
"Diggory," Harry called his name.
"Harry, Gloria, you are out of the hospital, are you feeling okay?" Cedric asked gently, he was always so elegant.
"Much better, thank you."
"Uh...you guys keep chatting, I'm planning on going to the auditorium." Cedric saw that they were chatting here.
"Diggory." Gloria called out to him, "If I hadn't signed up, you would most likely have been the champion of Hogwarts. I'm sorry, but losing this spot might be a good thing for you. I'm not saying this to mock you."
Cedric was stunned. He didn't expect her to say directly that she signed up herself.
"Although I don't know why you did this, you are indeed better than me, and I am convinced." He was very graceful, "Thank you for telling me this."
Harry stared at his back in a daze. Gloria pushed him and said, "Why are you looking at me with such deep affection?"
"Leah!" Harry exclaimed, "I don't have that kind of look."
Gloria smiled but said nothing.
Harry deflated, "He's Cho Chang's boyfriend now, they really are a good match."
The savior's first secret love in his life ended in vain.
Gloria, whose love life was beautiful and stable, could not sympathize with him and said very coldly: "You adjust yourself. I have to go back to the lounge first."
·
In the Slytherin common room, as soon as she entered, she saw a group of people gathered around a familiar seat, where her and Draco's sofas were.
"Your father has escaped!" It was Crabbe's voice.
"Shut up--!"
Draco's voice sounded angry. He had always been treated preferentially and received a lot of attention in Slytherin House since entering Hogwarts.
"Gloria is back..." someone said in a low voice.
The crowd immediately made way for Draco, his face slightly flushed, and Crabbe and Goyle stood in front of him.
Before the two could say anything else, they were knocked away by a strong force and hit the wall hard.
Gloria glanced at everyone coldly, "Why, do you think that Voldemort's return will challenge my authority?"
The other houses might not dare to believe it and the Ministry of Magic might refuse to acknowledge it, but Slytherin House definitely understood that things were changing outside.
Zabini, Pansy, Daphne and others were standing opposite Draco, and they took a step back unconsciously when they saw her approaching.
Crabbe and Goyle were still in shock.
Draco immediately came to Gloria, "Have you forgotten what Madam Pomfrey said!"
It's best not to use magic in the last month.
Gloria held his hand soothingly. "I know some people's parents surrendered to Voldemort. They got the news that he was back. What I said before is still valid. The Slytherin Club only accepts those who stand on my side. Now the time for the test has come. What are you going to choose?"
"Have you seen him?" Zabini asked first.
"I saw it and even had a fight with him. He is really strong."
Gloria said it lightly, but the students around her gasped.
Crabbe struggled to get up and pushed away the students who were blocking his way. His arrogant face instantly withered when he saw Gloria's face clearly. "The Dark Lord is back... You can't defeat him."
The scene was silent for a few seconds before Gloria said softly, "It's not up to you to decide."
