Chapter 233 The Mysterious Owner of the Electric Seal
As Tan Zhengchu entered, the mysterious woman slowly stood up, her tone tinged with a hint of teasing: "Mr. Tan, it's really not easy to see you."
Tan Zhengchu looked at her coldly, his tone distant: "What do you want from me?"
The woman chuckled softly, her voice low and mysterious: "President Tan is indeed as straightforward as the rumors say. However, I'm different from your average business partner."
Her gaze lingered on Tan Zhengchu's face for a moment, a barely perceptible trace of grief flashing in her eyes, but she quickly regained her composure.
"What exactly are you trying to say?" Tan Zhengchu frowned slightly, his tone tinged with impatience.
The woman didn't answer directly, but slowly said, "Mr. Tan, you really resemble someone. However, I'm not here on business today."
Tan Zhengchu's gaze darkened, and his tone grew even colder: "If you don't have anything important to say, please leave."
The woman remained unmoved and continued, "Mr. Tan, do you want to live? I called you before, you should remember, right?"
Tan Zhengchu's eyes suddenly sharpened. He recognized the woman's voice; it was the same voice of the mysterious phone caller from before.
"It's you." His voice was low and wary. "What exactly is your purpose?"
The woman smiled slightly, her tone carrying a hint of seduction: "Come with me, and I'll give you five years of my life in exchange for your lifelong peace. It's a good deal, isn't it?"
Tan Zhengchu sneered and refused without hesitation: "I will not leave my wife and children. Please leave, or I will call security."
The woman didn't seem surprised by his reaction, but simply sighed softly: "Mr. Tan, are you really not going to reconsider? Life is only once; if you miss it, you'll never have another chance."
Tan Zhengchu stood up, his expression growing increasingly cold: "I've been separated from Yingxue and the others for five years. How many five-year periods can one afford to wait in a lifetime?"
The woman looked at him, remained silent for a moment, and finally nodded: "I understand. However, Mr. Tan, I hope you won't regret your decision today."
"I would rather die than be separated from my family again." Tan Zhengchu's tone was firm and resolute, with no wavering in his eyes.
Seeing Tan Zhengchu turn to leave, the mysterious woman hurriedly stood up to stop him: "Mr. Tan, are you really not going to reconsider? In five years, you can be with your wife and children forever. Not everyone has such an opportunity."
Tan Zhengchu paused, but did not turn around, his tone cold and hard: "No need. I will not leave them, not even for a day."
The woman chuckled softly, a hint of mockery in her voice: "You're still so stubborn. If it weren't for that disfigured face, you might have come with me long ago, wouldn't you?"
Tan Zhengchu was startled: How did she know about this?
His fist clenched slightly, but quickly relaxed.
He strode towards the door, saying without turning his head, "There's no need to bring up the past."
A woman's voice came from behind, carrying a hint of warning: "Mr. Tan, if you don't come with me, you'll die soon. Are you really willing to accept that?"
Tan Zhengchu did not falter in the slightest, his tone firm and resolute: "Life and death are predestined, but I will never abandon my family in order to live."
After saying that, he pushed open the door and left the tea room without looking back.
Outside the door, Liu Bao and Da Bao, two little buns, were hiding in a corner eavesdropping.
Upon seeing Tan Zhengchu come out, they quickly ran to the other side of the door, pretending to have just passed by.
Their brows furrowed, their eyes met, and their expressions were filled with worry.
"Daddy's virus hasn't been cured yet, will he die?" Da Bao lowered his voice, his tone tinged with panic.
Liu Bao pushed up his small glasses and said calmly, "What that woman said may not be true, but we all know that Daddy has been infected with the virus."
Da Bao clenched his little fists and said angrily, "That woman may wear a pretty mask, but she's really wicked! She actually wants Daddy to leave us for five years! Mommy will be very sad if she finds out."
Liu Bao nodded, a determined look in his eyes: "We can't let Daddy leave, but we also have to find a way to save him. We have to help Mommy and save Daddy too."
The two exchanged a glance, nodded in tacit agreement, and quietly left the tea room.
Meanwhile, Tan Zhengchu returned to his office with a gloomy expression.
He picked up his phone and dialed the number of his third brother: "Help me find someone. The woman who came to the Tan Group today was wearing a black butterfly mask, and her identity is unknown."
The third brother on the other end of the phone responded and then asked, "Boss, what happened?"
Tan Zhengchu rubbed his temples, his voice weary: "She's acting strangely, saying she wants to take me away for five years. I can't leave Yingxue and the children. You need to find out about her background as soon as possible."
After hanging up the phone, Tan Zhengchu leaned back in his chair, exhausted, and closed his eyes.
His physical strength was deteriorating, and the pain in his body was becoming more and more intense, as if countless fine needles were moving through his bone marrow.
His brows furrowed tightly, and a layer of cold sweat beaded on his forehead.
Just then, a soft little hand gently touched his brow.
"Daddy, are you very tired?" Qibao asked seriously, lying on his lap with her little face upturned.
Tan Zhengchu opened his eyes and saw Qibao's concerned gaze, which warmed his heart.
He reached out and touched her head, saying softly, "Daddy's fine, just a little tired."
Qibao wrinkled her little nose and said seriously, "If Daddy is tired, then rest well! You don't need to go to work every day. My brothers and I won't buy any more toys; we'll save the money to buy Daddy delicious food!"
Tan Zhengchu was amused by her words, and gently stroked her face with his large hand, saying in a tender tone, "With you and Mommy by my side, Daddy won't be tired."
Upon hearing this, Qibao happily rolled around on Tan Zhengchu, rubbing against him like a kitten: "Daddy is the best! I love Daddy the most!"
Tan Zhengchu laughed at her words, and the pain in his body seemed to lessen considerably.
He gently embraced Qibao, secretly vowing in his heart: no matter how difficult the road ahead, he would persevere for the sake of these lovely children.
However, his gaze unconsciously drifted to the window, a vague unease creeping into his heart.
The mysterious woman's words were like a thorn, deeply embedded in his heart.
After Tan Zhengchu left, the lounge fell silent.
The mysterious woman stood frozen in place, her gaze fixed intently on the doorway.
Her fingers trembled slightly as she gripped the bag tightly, as if afraid he would lose it.
Just then, Liu Bao and Da Bao, the two little buns, quietly slipped into the lounge.
They stood behind the woman, staring at her coldly, their eyes filled with wariness and inquiry.
