Chapter 326: My son cannot die
Chapter 326: My son cannot die
The room Terry had blasted a hole through... Was Jasper’s.
What truly shocked both Rory and Yuel was the fact that Jasper’s entire room had been constructed from space stone, one of the toughest materials in existence.
And yet Terry, who had only just awakened his powers moments ago, had casually blown a massive hole straight through the wall.
His talent was terrifyingly monstrous.
Yuel immediately grabbed Terry out of Rory’s palm and sternly scolded him.
"Who allowed you to use your abilities inside the house?"
"I—I didn’t mean to..."
Terry instantly wilted under the reprimand, guiltily lowering his tiny head as he defended himself in a small voice.
"I just wanted Mother to see my powers."
After all, just like Mother, he had lightning abilities too.
"Daddy, I was wrong." Terry apologized at lightning speed. "I really didn’t do it on purpose. I promise I won’t use my powers inside the house ever again."
Seeing Terry pitifully begging Yuel for forgiveness, Rory quickly rescued him from Yuel’s grasp.
Since Terry’s transformation was incomplete, the vines attached to his body still remained. He couldn’t stray too far from Yuel yet.
Cradling Terry protectively in her hands, Rory stood beside Yuel and pleaded on his behalf.
"Yuel, Terry just transformed for the first time. Let it go this once."
The moment he heard his mother defending him, Terry immediately hugged Rory’s finger emotionally.
As expected, Mother loved him most.
"Alright. I’ll listen to you, Rory."
With Rory pleading for mercy, Yuel temporarily let Terry off the hook.
Though once Rory wasn’t around... He fully intended to properly educate the little troublemaker.
As if he hadn’t noticed.
Terry had absolutely done that on purpose. Newly transformed cubs were naturally mischievous and loved causing destruction.
Normally, though, young cubs didn’t awaken abilities so quickly, meaning their destructive power remained limited.
But Terry was different. Not only had he already awakened his powers, but their destructive force was absurdly powerful. He absolutely needed to be taught what could and could not be done inside the house.
Yuel glanced at the giant hole in Jasper’s room before turning to Rory.
"Rory, give Terry to me and head downstairs for dinner first. I’ll repair Jasper’s room and come down afterward."
"Rory, dinner’s ready." Jasper had come upstairs after noticing Rory still hadn’t come down.
But the moment he approached, he saw the enormous gaping hole blasted through his wall.
"Wh-what happened here?" he asked blankly.
"Sorry, Jasper." Yuel apologized on Terry’s behalf. "Terry accidentally put a hole through your room. Don’t worry, I’ll repair it immediately."
"Terry?" Jasper instantly looked toward Yuel’s shoulder. Only then did he realize Terry was no longer there.
"Terry woke up?" he asked in shock.
"Mm." Yuel lifted the tiny half-fruit, half-human child he had just taken back from Rory.
"Terry, you damaged Papa Jasper’s room. Apologize properly."
"Papa Jasper, I’m sorry." Terry obediently apologized, his obsidian-like eyes already glistening with watery tears as he looked at Jasper pitifully.
Jasper stared at the tiny creature in Yuel’s palm—half-human, half-fruit, adorable like a handcrafted doll—and his heart instantly melted.
"It’s alright." Jasper waved it off without hesitation before carefully scooping Terry into his arms.
The more he looked at him, the more he adored him.
"Our Terry is incredible. You just woke up and already awakened your abilities..."
If he had a little snake of his own someday... Would it be this adorable too? This talented too?

Meanwhile, in the Firebird Clan
After Vincent was brought back, he fell into unconsciousness almost immediately.
The moment the Firebird Emperor received the news, she rushed straight to Vincent’s palace.
Looking at her son lying pale and motionless upon the bed, fury exploded across her face as she turned toward the guards who had escorted him back.
"What happened? How did Vincent end up like this when he was perfectly fine before?"
The guards immediately dropped to their knees and hurriedly explained everything that had happened at the Divine Fallen Battlefield.
"Your Majesty, after His Highness returned to the Central District and stepped off the battleship, he suddenly began coughing blood. He forbade us from informing Female Master Rory. He specifically ordered us not to tell her about his condition and instructed us to bring him back to the Firebird Clan instead."
After hearing the explanation, the Firebird Emperor looked toward Vincent lying unconscious on the bed, her gaze filled with both fury and helpless disappointment.
Then she anxiously turned toward the Firebird physician currently examining him.
"What exactly is wrong with Vincent?"
The physician completed his examination before wiping cold sweat from his brow with his sleeve.
He bowed respectfully.
"Your Majesty... after conducting a full examination, I can confirm... His Highness’s illness has relapsed."
The Firebird Emperor’s vision darkened instantly. Her body swayed violently.
"How is that possible? Wasn’t his condition already cured? It hasn’t flared up for years—how could it suddenly relapse now?"
The physician frowned deeply, his expression grave.
"Your Majesty, while examining His Highness, I discovered abnormalities within his ability core. I suspect the relapse is connected to his advancement to Rank Eleven."
The Firebird Emperor looked toward Vincent with aching eyes.
"Then how do we cure him? He’s already Rank Eleven now... if the illness has returned, can he survive this by himself?"
The physician slowly shook his head. His expression grew even heavier.
"No medicine is effective on His Highness anymore. He can only endure it through his own strength."
As for whether Vincent would survive this episode... The physician did not know. Because Vincent was no longer the same as before.
Now that he had reached Rank Eleven, the stronger his power became, the more horrifying the torment inside him grew.
"Your Majesty," the physician continued carefully, "there is another problem. During this relapse, His Highness’s fire abilities may lose control at any moment. The Rank Eleven experts within the clan are currently absent.
If his powers erupt uncontrollably... The consequences would be catastrophic. Right now, the most important thing is to remove His Highness from the Firebird Clan—or even from the Central District entirely."
Vincent’s abilities were fire-based. If his powers spiraled out of control, the entire Firebird Clan could be reduced to an inferno. And without another Rank Eleven powerhouse present to suppress him in time, the whole Central District might become a living hell.
The Firebird Emperor’s expression darkened to the extreme.
"Vincent is already in this condition... If we force him to leave the clan now, how is that any different from sending him to his death?"
This was her son. How could she possibly abandon him so easily?
"But Your Majesty—" The physician tried to continue, only to be cut off by a raised hand.
The Emperor turned toward the kneeling guards.
"Notify Rory immediately. Tell her to bring Rank Eleven powerhouses to the Firebird Clan."
Vincent had indeed been wrong to recklessly abandon his position as First Consort. Even as his mother, she would not blindly excuse his actions.
But compared to that... His life mattered more.
The guards kneeling on the floor had all been personally trained by Vincent himself.
Hearing the Emperor’s command, they hesitated.
"Your Majesty... His Highness specifically said—"
The Emperor interrupted sharply. "I am ordering you. Go inform Rory. My son absolutely cannot die."
Right now, only Rory had Rank Eleven powerhouses by her side. Only she could save him.
The Emperor’s mate looked at Vincent on the bed with heartbroken eyes before speaking worriedly.
"Your Majesty... Rory is still angry about Vincent giving up the position of First Mate. Will she really come?"
Females despised disobedient males the most. And this time, Vincent truly had crossed the line.
"She will come. She definitely will."
The Emperor believed she had judged Rory correctly. No matter how badly Vincent had messed up, when life and death were involved, Rory would never abandon him.
