Chapter 135: Staying Peaceful in My Backyard

Chapter 135: Staying Peaceful in My Backyard

Back home, Judy shed her work attire for a silk nightgown. The gown was tailored to a close fit, the smooth burgundy fabric flowing naturally along her slender curves, emphasizing her graceful figure. The plunging neckline was slightly open, revealing her collarbone and a glimpse of her natural beauty. The belt, loosely tied at the waist, accentuated her slender figure. A pair of slender legs peeked out from the hem, emitting a subtle sheen in the light, a sensual yet elegant look.

She stepped into a simple pair of slippers, walked to the bar, and gently poured a glass of red wine. The deep red liquid rippled in the glass. She picked up the glass and slowly walked to the sofa and sat down. As she took a sip of the wine, she fell into deep thought.

His fingertips gently slid across the rim of the wine glass, his eyes slightly lowered, a complex mix of emotions flickering through his mind. The same question still lingered in his mind: Who orchestrated the attack on the FBI?

"Xiu..." She whispered the name, with a barely perceptible pain in her eyes.

Judy's mind bounced back and forth between various possibilities. The force that killed Akai Shuichi was definitely not just an ordinary criminal gang. Their actions were so swift and precise, it was obviously planned in advance.

She frowned slightly and gently swirled the glass, the crimson liquid rippled in the glass with her movements. "Could it be that organization? Or... Wuchen?"

Judy took a deep breath and leaned back on the sofa, her wine glass tucked between her fingertips. Her long legs were casually crossed, appearing casual and lazy, yet revealing a unique charm. The soft fabric slid slightly with her movements, making her posture even more charming. But she didn't care to pay attention to any of this at the moment.

Her thoughts returned to the indifferent man. His demeanor, his composure, and the unique aura of his group all left Judy with mixed feelings. Was Chen Shuo a well-hidden hunter, or simply a bystander? These questions enveloped her like a fog.

"You bunch of wild dogs, don't you think you haven't died enough?"

A deep, indifferent male voice came from behind Judy, interrupting her thoughts. Her heart skipped a beat and the glass in her hand almost slipped.

However, Judy was no ordinary newbie. Instinctively, she pulled out an SWM66 revolver from under the sofa and pointed it steadily in the direction of the sound.

Across from her, under the dim light, sat a man sitting upright on a single sofa. His face was familiar, his expression impassive. Despite being pointed at with a gun, he showed no sign of panic, his hands folded across his abdomen, his posture remarkably relaxed and at ease.

Chen Shuo!

The face I had just seen in the arcade today now exuded an oppressive aura that was impossible to ignore. He just sat there quietly, his eyes as cold as a knife, as if everything around him was not worth his attention.

Judy's hand, gripping the gun, trembled slightly, and a thin layer of sweat formed on her palm. Even though she was a battle-hardened FBI agent, facing Chen Shuo's aura, she still felt an indescribable chill creeping up her spine.

"Wu Chen..." Judy whispered the name, with a hint of trembling in her voice.

Chen Shuo didn't say anything and didn't make any extra movements. He just looked at her with his indifferent eyes, which were so deep that they seemed to be able to see through everything.

Judy's finger subconsciously rested on the trigger, but she quickly realized that Chen Shuo wasn't showing any threatening behavior. Despite this, his powerful aura still made her feel incredibly oppressive.

Chen Shuo looked at Judy's slightly trembling gun barrel, but he didn't care. He still sat upright on the single sofa, his eyes cold and deep. The corners of his mouth rose slightly, and he chuckled softly. His voice was low, but it was like a cold knife piercing the heart:

"Are you afraid?"

These few simple words, carrying a suffocating sense of oppression, instantly made Judy's breath hitch. Her fingers gripped the gun handle tightly, her knuckles turning slightly white. Although her gaze remained fixed on Chen Shuo, her back was already drenched in cold sweat. She forced herself to remain calm, but facing Chen Shuo's calm yet sharp gaze, her aura was invisibly weakened.

"Stop talking nonsense!" Judy tried to make her voice less trembling, but the weakness in her tone was still exposed. "Why did you appear in my house?"

After hearing this, Chen Shuo chuckled softly. The chuckle was low and sinister, as if filled with a certain disdain and amusement. He spoke slowly, his tone carrying an undeniable deterrent force:

"Hehe...Shouldn't I be the one asking you this?"

He raised his head slightly, his sharp eyes looking directly at Judy, like a beast examining its prey. His voice was still low, but every word was like a huge rock pressing on Judy's chest, making it increasingly difficult for her to breathe:

"You bunch of wild dogs...why are you in my back garden?"

The word "wild dog" was like a deep thorn, tearing at Judy's remaining pride. Her face turned pale in an instant. The muzzle of the gun in her hand was still pointed at Chen Shuo, but the trembling in her fingertips was more obvious. She gritted her teeth, forcing herself not to retreat, but she could not hide the fear and shock in her heart.

Chen Shuo's aura completely enveloped the entire room. He made no unnecessary movements. His calm tone and unhurried demeanor alone were enough to suffocate people. Judy had always been confident in her mental strength, but at this moment, she clearly felt her own despair.

"We've lost over a dozen good men here! Don't tell me you don't know!" Judy's voice was filled with suppressed anger, almost hysterically shouting. Her eyes were slightly red, and her emotions were on the verge of collapse.

Chen Shuo remained indifferent, as if these words hadn't reached his ears at all. His expression didn't change at all, and his tone was chillingly flat: "So what?"

Judy's emotions were completely out of control. She stared at Chen Shuo, gritting her teeth, her eyes filled with anger and pain: "Did you do this?!"

Facing her question, Chen Shuo suddenly sneered, as if he had just heard a funny joke. He leaned forward slightly, looking at Judy with a sarcastic look in his eyes: "So what?"

This cold reply hit Judy like a hammer in the heart. Her pupils suddenly shrank, and she felt as if all her strength had been drained from her body. A few seconds later, she suddenly raised the gun, her finger trembling on the trigger, and screamed hysterically, "I'm going to kill you!"

However, before she could finish her words, "Bang!" a gunshot broke the silence of the night.

Judy's gun flew out of her hand, her face instantly pale, and she fell to the ground, clutching her aching right hand. Blood seeped from between her fingers and dripped onto the floor, like a dazzling red flower in the dark night.

Chen Shuo remained seated, clutching a Remington 1875 he'd unsheathed at some unknown time. His movements were as smooth as flowing water. His expression remained impassive, as indifferent as if he were looking at an insignificant ant.

He gently turned the Remington in his hand and walked slowly and steadily towards Judy who was kneeling on the ground. Every step was like a heavy hammer hitting Judy's heart, making her despair even deeper.

When he reached Judy, he stopped, crouched down, and looked directly at her. His eyes were cold and sharp, as if they could pierce through Judy's soul.

"Rookie... Who gave you the courage to pull a gun on me?" His tone was still calm, but with an unignorable sense of oppression, like a whisper from the abyss.

Judy trembled, her eyes losing focus, her mind blank. The pain and despair completely robbed her of any resistance. She knew she was facing an unstoppable killer. Not only was she physically injured, but her spirit was completely crushed.

"Is it... you..." Judy's voice was almost trembling. She knelt on the ground, clutching her injured hand tightly, and kept muttering these words. Her eyes were empty, lacking their former sharpness. Her face was no longer calm and decisive, but was replaced by deep confusion and pain.

At this moment, Judy looked nothing like the calm, fearless, battle-hardened FBI agent she once was. She exuded a sense of fragility, as if she could be swallowed by the world at any moment. Her once piercing eyes were now filled with helplessness and fear, like a fallen prey, unable to respond with her usual composure.

Her hands trembled as if she was trying to support herself to stand, but she found that her strength was gone. Blood slowly dripped from her hands, the bright red color intertwined with the fear in her heart.

Chen Shuo looked at her, a faint sneer curling up at the corner of his mouth. Judy's decadence and powerlessness didn't seem to evoke any sympathy in him. On the contrary, this scene seemed to be exactly what he had expected. He didn't rush to respond, but instead watched her quietly, as if enjoying this submission and silence.

Judy still lowered her head, a flicker of unconcealable shame and despair in her eyes. She could no longer find any reason to stand up to the man before her. She knew that no matter how hard she struggled, no matter how hard she resisted, Chen Shuo wouldn't give her a chance.

She no longer had the last bit of confidence left and could only continue to silently endure it all under Chen Shuo's cold gaze.

Looking at Judy in front of him, Chen Shuo's eyes flashed with disdain. He looked at her coldly, her face showing she had lost her fighting spirit. The corners of his mouth raised slightly. "Want to know? Go check it out yourself. Aren't you wild dogs known as the kings of intelligence?"

He finished speaking, his voice cold and filled with an undisguised contempt. He really had no interest in wasting time on a "rookie" like Judy who had completely lost the power to resist.

Chen Shuo stood up and slowly walked towards the exit, each step appearing unusually calm, as if Judy was nothing to him. The oppressive feeling just now seemed to completely disappear the moment he stood up, leaving only a cold atmosphere.

Just as he reached the door, Chen Shuo stopped, turned back slightly, and glanced at Judy's decadent appearance again. There was no trace of pity in his eyes, only a cold indifference. He spoke slowly, his tone without any fluctuation:

"Behave yourself in my back garden, or else..."

The rest of the words were left unsaid, but the pause filled the air with a menacing quality. Judy looked up at him, fear in her eyes, and that one sentence was enough to say it all.

Chen Shuo didn't even glance at her. He turned and left, the door gently closing behind him, leaving Judy alone, kneeling quietly on the ground. The invisible threat still lingered in the air, causing her heart to skip a beat.

Judy finally gave up and bowed her head weakly. She felt her blood surge, and an uncontrollable feeling of humiliation and despair welled up in her heart. Chen Shuo's cruelty had completely crushed her.
