Chapter 315 Spiritual Transmission 2
Chapter 315 Spiritual Transmission 2
As they were immersed in the villagers' sincere and heartfelt gratitude, a somewhat shy little girl cautiously approached Ling Yu. She clutched a bright red flower tightly in her small hand, as if it were her most precious treasure. The little girl looked up at Ling Yu with her large, clear, yet slightly timid eyes, and then gently handed him the flower.
Ling Yu smiled as he accepted the flower from the little girl, a warm feeling welling up inside him. However, as he carefully examined the beautiful little flower, he was surprised to find strange and mysterious runes engraved on its stem. These runes were winding and densely packed together, leaving him completely baffled.
Before they could even begin to explore these strange runes, the surrounding space suddenly began to violently distort without warning! Like a piece of paper being crumpled, the entire space became extremely unstable. Then, an incredibly powerful force, like a pair of invisible giant hands, suddenly grabbed them and pulled them into a bottomless, mysterious vortex.
When they finally awoke from their unconsciousness, they found themselves in a completely unfamiliar forest. The forest was eerily quiet, shrouded in a thick, almost impenetrable white fog, severely reducing visibility. Ling Yu steadied himself and immediately tried to use magic to find a way out, but to his astonishment, his magic was severely limited, its effectiveness negligible.
Seeing this, the boy standing to the side frowned, gripping his short sword tightly, his attention focused on any potential danger. Just then, a slight rustling sound came from the previously quiet grass, followed by a sharp, short cry that pierced the silent night. In an instant, several strange creatures, resembling wolves but radiating intense flames, leaped out of the dense grass like lightning. Baring their fangs and claws, they pounced on the boy and Ling Yu, their ferocious appearance seemingly intent on devouring everything in their path!
Faced with this sudden attack, the boy showed no fear. He nimbly dodged to the side, easily avoiding the pounce of a fire wolf. Immediately after, he launched a flying kick, accurately striking another fire wolf in the stomach, sending it flying backward with a scream. At the same time, Lingyu dared not relax for a moment. She mustered her strength, concentrating on chanting incantations and trying her best to cast a few small spells to assist the boy. However, these fire wolves were exceptionally ferocious and numerous. Despite the boy's agility and quick reflexes, and Lingyu's best efforts, as time passed, the two of them gradually felt somewhat overwhelmed.
Just as the situation was becoming increasingly critical, a melodious and gentle flute tune suddenly drifted from the depths of the forest. The music, like celestial music, was clear and pleasant, echoing throughout the entire forest. Surprisingly, the previously menacing fire creatures, upon hearing the flute music, seemed to be frozen in place, halting their attack. They paused slightly, then slowly turned and retreated with hesitant steps, disappearing into the dark undergrowth in no time.
Just then, a figure slowly emerged from the misty forest. It was an elderly man dressed in strange attire, with white hair, a kind face, and holding a long, jade-green flute in his hand. The old man looked intently at Ling Yu and the young man, and said slowly, “You two young people shouldn’t have rashly entered this place. But since you’re already here, you might as well make the best of it. Come with me; perhaps I can help you find a way out.” With that, the old man turned and walked deeper into the forest.
Lingyu and the boy exchanged a glance, and after a moment of silence, they finally decided to follow the mysterious old man. They didn't know what challenges and adventures awaited them, but at this moment, it seemed there was no better choice.
