Chapter 459 - 461: Super Mom’s Perfect Finale (Part 2)
At the sound of a familiar whistle, the guests boarded the plane together.
After a flight of several hours, the plane slowly landed in Alveria.
Pulling her suitcase, Ruby Preston drew in a breath and thought aloud, "Have we been here before? It feels somewhat familiar... or am I mistaken?"
The other guests chimed in. "Yeah, it looks a little familiar to me too, but I can’t quite place it. We might have even filmed something here before."
Naomi Kenway’s eyes lit up as if she had remembered something. "I remember now. The first episode was filmed in Alveria."
Before the other guests could react, the tour guide smiled and said, "That’s right! This is where our show began. I’m impressed you remembered, Ms. Kenway!"
Naomi Kenway smiled back, squeezing Ian’s hand. "I can’t believe we’re back in Alveria. The last time we were here for filming... several months have passed in the blink of an eye."
The guests boarded a bus together and headed for their destination.
Naomi Kenway was the first guest off the bus. She stared at her surroundings, a little stunned.
"Mommy, what’s wrong?"
Ethan Shaw placed a hand on Naomi Kenway’s shoulder, his voice filled with concern. "What is it? Are you feeling unwell?"
"No, I’m just... a little surprised." Naomi Kenway shook her head, coming back to her senses. She took Ian’s hand as she stepped off the bus.
The guests disembarked one by one, and all of them froze, stunned by the scene before them.
No one could have imagined that the destination for the final episode would be Prospera Village in Alveria—the very place where they had filmed the first episode. The show was starting and ending in the same location, bringing everything full circle. It was a fitting conclusion.
Villagers welcomed the guests with the lively sound of gongs and drums. Their faces were wreathed in smiles, their welcome even warmer than the first time they’d met.
Naomi Kenway’s gaze swept across the crowd, and she spotted several familiar faces—the neighbor who had been so kind to them, and the carpenter and his wife who were the first to offer them help.
Naomi Kenway looked down and asked Ian with a smile, "Ian, do you remember this place?"
"I remember! This is the first place we visited on our trip!" Ian’s eyes lit up as he noticed something. "Mommy, look!" he said excitedly to Naomi Kenway. "It’s the carpenter grandpa and grandma! I remember you made a little wooden sword for me." Ian’s chubby little face was all smiles. "I’ve kept that little wooden sword safe and sound! It’s in my treasure chest!"
Ian’s treasure chest was a large box he cherished dearly, where he kept his most beloved toys.
Ethan Shaw seemed to realize something. "I remember now. This is where you two went for the first episode?"
Naomi Kenway nodded. "Yes, this was the first stop on our trip. It’s unforgettable."
Ethan Shaw smiled. "It’s my honor to be able to revisit this place with you and Ian."
Naomi Kenway said enthusiastically, "We took a few photos here for memories last time. Now that we’re back, we can take one together as a family."
The other guests were also lost in reminiscing about their time here.
As the final drumbeat faded, the villagers shouted in unison, "Welcome back!"
The guests stepped forward, sharing gentle hugs with them. "Thank you."
[I can’t believe it’s Prospera Village! The production team is really hitting us with the nostalgia.]
[Ahhh! Before I knew it, we’re already at the last episode. Time flies.]
[I’ve rewatched the first episode so many times. I still remember all the fun stuff that happened.]
[I just got all excited and went to rewatch the first episode, but it turns out they’ve edited the hell out of it. All the scenes with Mr. Jennings are gone. Great, one more reason to hate Mr. Jennings!]
[Does anyone have the uncut version? I’m begging. Mr. Jennings is a real piece of work, but a lot of the funniest scenes got cut along with him.]
[Is it just me, or does our dear Ian look a little taller?]
[I think so too. Feels like all the kids have gotten taller. Ian’s change is the most obvious. His cheeks don’t seem as chubby as before, but he’s still got that baby fat.]
[Kids grow up, it’s only natural. And look at his parents! You just know Ian is going to be incredibly handsome when he grows up. A little heartthrob in the making!]
[Hahaha, can Ian just fast-forward to age twenty? I’m so curious what he’ll look like when he’s all grown up. Will he take after President Shaw more, or Nina?]
[Probably President Shaw. I mean, Ian already looks so much like him.]
[Not necessarily. I think he’s starting to look more and more like Nina.]
[Why are you guys arguing? No matter who he takes after, he’s going to be drop-dead gorgeous, okay?]
[Day N of missing Mona.]
[Chelsea Raines seems especially excited this episode. And why shouldn’t she be? Her husband was a cheating scumbag, so him being paralyzed from the waist down is actually a blessing for her. After all, no one else will be born to compete with Jared for the inheritance now.]
...
The tour guide approached slowly, riding in a donkey cart. He hopped off and raised a megaphone. "Does anyone remember my little donkey? Any kids want to come and try riding him? All you have to do is call out for Uncle Dalton and you can have a free ride!"
A love for small animals seems to be in every child’s nature. The kids all ran over excitedly, shouting for Uncle Dalton.
Jared Woods looked up, wiping the tears from his cheeks with his arm. He, too, was drawn to the little donkey and waddled over excitedly.
"Uncle Dalton! Uncle Dalton! I wanna get up there!!"
"Me too! Put me up, Uncle Dalton!"
"You’re the best, Uncle Dalton! Let me have a turn!"
...
The tour guide was beaming from ear to ear as he lifted the children onto the donkey cart one by one.
After a while, the children had had their fill of fun and climbed down from the cart.
The tour guide’s forehead was beaded with sweat from having lifted all the children up and down.
A crew member ran over and whispered something in the tour guide’s ear, apparently reminding him of something.
The guide nodded. Wiping the sweat from his brow, he raised his megaphone again. "For our final episode, we’ve invited a few special guests! Does anyone want to guess who they are? It’s a very exciting surprise!"
Unexpectedly, all the children started chanting Nathan Lynch’s name. He was clearly the one they were most excited to see.
After having spent so much time with him, the children had grown very attached.
Ian’s big eyes were fixed on the path ahead, unwilling to even blink. He turned to Naomi Kenway and asked, "Mommy, do you think... do you think it could be Mona who’s coming?"
"You miss Mona?"
Ian nodded. "Even though I just saw Mona a few days ago, I still miss him a lot. I wish Mona could come back to the show and play with me..."
Naomi Kenway ruffled Ian’s hair comfortingly.
’She had a strong feeling... The chances that the special guests were Mona and his family were extremely high.’
